Reader insight into hacking the RSS Channel

I knew turning my previous findings over to the collective mind of the Internets would yield quick results. PSP Fanboy reader g.wygonik commented here and here with the bits I was missing while gazing at the binary CHLIST file in a text editor. Make sure you read his comments, and hopefully, we'll see something from him soon, as he notes: "that's it. pretty easy to make an app to do this. but it's late and i need sleep." Cool.
If you whip something up, let us know via our tips form and we'll post about it here.

heh - i unfortunately won't be doing any apps for the cause any time soon... i've got too many other things on my plate ATM. :-(
was just keeping my file-format "discovery" skills well oiled ;-)

No worries. Now that you've helped put me on the right track, I'll hack away at it some whenever I can squeeze in some free time.

Writing a translator from one crappy format to another sounds like a completely unrewarding experience. This service http://opml2rss.com/ will translate an OPML file into a web page with a bunch of links. Is that still too much clicking for you? One drawback is that you will have to have access to a web server to post your OPML file.
