Firm says PS3 will hang strong through 2011

One thing is for sure: a lot of people out there are going to be rejoicing when the PS3 hits the scene because hopefully we won't see so many analyst reports cropping up. The last time we heard a report like this, everyone got shaken up like a bad martini. Another group called In-Stat says the PlayStation 3 will hold its own and stay ahead of the competition. This is due to Sony's tendency to ship more units as time goes on (like the PS2, as the article suggests, which had over 8 million more units shipped last year than 2004).

It's still pretty ballsy to suggest Sony will lead the market against a competitor who will have already had a year on them. At this point we just want to wait and see what happens while keeping an objective eye on how they're going to handle putting their next-gen console out in three major territories. But either way, there isn't a Sony fan out there that wouldn't mind seeing the PS3 rock on through 2011.
