It came from the GDC: Darkwatch 2 footage

If you're a fan of shaky cam footage, then you may find this somewhat interesting. More goodies from the GDC keep popping up and so Darkwatch 2 now gets the treatment. This video is by far not the best quality, but at least it's something. So far it's eerie and suspenseful: that much we can deduce from the showing. The aural atmosphere really shows off the potential here, so hopefully we'll either get better footage in the future or something else to sink our thumbs into.

boriiiiing!...... sony, everyday you suck worse and worse.
Cage @ Apr 12th 2006 3:12PM
I thought Sony was a console going away from FPS? Isnt that what all PS3 fanboys say? They dont want FPS?
CWKalel @ Apr 12th 2006 4:44PM
Well, it would have at least been a fun video if the "surprise" wasn't blown with the still image used in the posting! With that gone, it's just aimless roaming through empty halls. Next time don't show us the ending!

"I thought Sony was a console going away from FPS? Isnt that what all PS3 fanboys say? They dont want FPS?"
Personally i would love FPS on the PS3. They let you connect your keyboard and mouse via bt so no more fumbeling around with the gamepad.
Digi @ Apr 13th 2006 10:10AM
Cowboys, vampires, and sexy dead girls are fun in parties, but not so much alone.
Cage @ Apr 13th 2006 8:55PM
So now PS fanboys like FPS huh? Does MS need to start another new genre for you guys to like? I think we will go with the new FF as it. And why the hell would you want a keyboard and mouse?!?! This has to be the dumbest post Ive seen. Get a computer for computer gaming...

"Does MS need to start another new genre for you guys to like?"
Jeez, you retard cage, I didn't realise that MS invented FPS's...... I was sure that the snes had doom on it & saturn & PS1 had a load of them as well. Your way of thinking means that MS copied sony's idea to make consoles, ten they stole sony's idea to use disks, then they stole sony's idea to support dvd playback (mind you one could be played straight out of box without further expendature).... I think you mistake what ps fans are saying, I believe (unlike xbox) they want more than just FPS's.....
Cage @ Apr 14th 2006 12:32PM
MS didnt create FPS but they did perfect it (on a console). They added great online support to it that put them way above the rest.
"I think you mistake what ps fans are saying, I believe (unlike xbox) they want more than just FPS's"
I forgot about your love RPG's...my bad. I give props for PS1. It revolutionized gaming. Allowed me to play one of my all time favs FF7. PS2 was overrated and PS3 will be even more. Can you name any "must have" games on the PS2 that arent on the Box?
Scythe @ Apr 14th 2006 1:41PM
Shadow of Collious, Metal Gear Solid 3, Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, & Socom just to name a few.
Cage @ Apr 14th 2006 2:11PM
Ill give you MGS but uh...Splinter Cell is there. Socom sucks to Halo. Kingdom Hearts? Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. For a bunch of lonely players. Again...hardcore gamers dont play these games. Kids do.
Scythe @ Apr 14th 2006 2:35PM
dude what the hell do you think these consoles are made for? Lonely gamers like you? Not really it's made for the kids I barly have time in my busy day to play games anymore I have 3 jobs and a girlfriend. I don't have time to play games as much anymore. These games are for kids for a reason, that's who is playing them. Socom has already been proven that it had more memebers on then halo.
Kindom Hearts isn't gay, what's gay is Kameo or whatever that game is for the 360 that has the fairy chick turning into crap. Then trying to pass it off as a nexgen game. What a load of B.S. that game was...
SotC is better then anything I have seen on any system in a long time. Sure it's short but nothing comes close to the gameplay and enviroments. The Battles are just amazing and for it to be done on a last gen system that's saying a lot. If Sony does get a part 2 for the ps3 then the game should be even more mind blowing then anything we will see for a while to come. This game was single player and not for one second did that bother me, I loved it every minute.
I don't care for games that revolve around nothing but the multiplayer. I don't have time to go home and put up with campers, hackers, trolls, Crying 25 year olds and then the constant swaring. Don't get me wrong online is tons of fun but if that's all you play games for then someone needs to go out and get some REAL friends and a life outside the box.
Cage @ Apr 14th 2006 2:59PM
Hi Scythe. How are you doing today?
Since you are not a "hardcore gamer" then I guess you would like a game called Kingdom Hearts. Consider yourself in the kid range and buy kid games. I know though that I wouldnt want to buy my kid a $550+ console to play kid games...
me kizza @ Apr 15th 2006 9:04AM
"MS didnt create FPS but they did perfect it (on a console). They added great online support to it that put them way above the rest."
Yes you silly american, but I believe it was a little game called Goldeneye that perfected it when MS were still a virtual sperm in the console world. Then Timesplitters came along & showed how multipalyer is done on this gen. Timesplitters 1-2, although not online, gave me a ton more fun playing split screen with a mate than that sssslooow slow moving halo piece of crap. Then there is those vehicles in halo that handled like shit & were useless as hell in the evolution of the FPS. Now Far cry implemented good use of vehicles, as they controlled well.
Halo is overated garbage. I played the 1st one up till last stage, & apart from the 1st level, the others were all the bloody same & repetative & boring. The enemies looked like fukking characters from sesami street on acid, & those attrocious alien weapons were hugely dissapointing.
Stop showing your stupidity & age with comments like above, cage, you moronic, mongrel, retard. Doom was on ps1 & snes, ps1 had good console FPs's like disruptor, alien trilogy, medal of honor (still the best one in the series), powerslave amongst others, then ps2 had timesplitters, red faction, MOH frontline & shit loads more. If killzone has the right amount of development time (unlike last time), & they are given the time to get the little things right (like level layout, pop up & frame rates), then killzone will overthrow halo with ease. You see, halo came along & all the MS fanbitches went nuts, then Halo 2 came along & a lot of the MS fanbitches were dissapointed with game for being nothing more than a storyless, souless online shooter....... I am especting a similar churnout with halo 3, as bunjie know it will sell off name alone. Wheras, Guerilla will be out to prove people wrong & make the game less of a dissapointment than last time. One flop can be acceptable for a franchise in this biz, but lots will not be scorned twice if the game ain't up to scratch. You see, I did not find Killzone to be as bad as MS fanwhores were to make out (although definately needed extra development time), I actually liked the real world setting & more realsitic guns than halo. I also loved some of the ideas (that are now being implemented into many a FPS), like the run button, which was done very well, I liked the spped tha game moved at, & I liked the futuristic war torn locales. If the sequel expands & opens up levels a bit more, adds some good mission objectives, eliminates pop up, draw in, framerate slowdown & lag online...... Well, expect a winner.........
Graphically Killzone was a technically impressive milestone & previously thought to be impossible on the ps2, it simply seemed rushed when you started playing....... what made things more frustrating was the fact that the game controlled very well, played very well, but just lacked that polish needed to give it the shine of a aaa title.
But don't worry, cagey, you little, wet behind the ears, prepubescent. 11.5yr old retard, PS3 will address that with things like, Unreal Tourno 2007 (better than Halo3), Resistance, Killing Day, MOH Airbourne, Dark Sector, crysis, & many many more that you will see, eat your words, swallow your pride, sell your 360 & get a ps3 for the nice price of $449 (US).
Just be happy that sony are the ones finally delivering with a next gen console........ even though they are not an american company & your patriotism borders on slightly retarded with (not so) hidden undertones of prejudice, just be accepting that the japanese not only know how to outdo yanks in this business in their own homeland, but they will also outdo MS in MS's own homeland. You see, thats the difference between a smart company & a big, dumb, american company. Bill will only throw so much of his dollars at it befotre he thinks, "ok, this is not financially viable for me, lets stick to what we do best". Bye bye bill, Sony on the other hand, this (electronics hardware manufacturing), is the crux of their business ( especially PS brand), this is what they do & have for 30yrs or so...........

"Kingdom Hearts? Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. For a bunch of lonely players. Again...hardcore gamers dont play these games. Kids do."
Hardcore gamers play everything, first of all. Second, they have a more evolved brain than yours. And third, now that you say "Halo IS BETTER THAN SOCOM LOLZ", we are about opinions, so then, Kingdom Hearts 2 is better than Halo. Any day. In fact, in america and europe the opinion will be divided. In japan, the opinion will surely go for Kingdom Hearts. By majority of votes, Kingdom hearts beats Halo.
Cage, you fail to realize how idiotic your claims are. PS fans want more than "Just FPS", which is what you find on 360 as of now, and what you find on Xbox.
Oh, and Hardcore gamers already evolved past FPS games. FPS games are old and an overcrowded genre. Give us something new on the genre at least, for fuck's sake.
BebopFox @ Apr 16th 2006 3:26PM
cage, you are the dumbest of the dumb in the young crowd. how the hell can you rant about how xbox has all the greatest games and ps2 doesn't have any exclusive greats? nearly every game on xbox can be found on, guess what, the PC. hell, you can even find them on other consoles such as the gamecube and ps2. what you fail to realise is that just because your mommy and daddy bought you a system that costs $500-600, that doesn't make you older or any more intelligent. now, go play your halo on the xbox 360 since at least it won't have much fps slow-downs like the current shooters for 360, and bitch to your other preschool kids who might give a shit. "look at me, i call any game i don't like a kids game so i can look cool to all my e-friends" do you know how stupid you sound now? come back when your balls have dropped you insolent pest.
BB7 @ Apr 16th 2006 4:05PM
Yo, guys
This is my first post and honestly. CAGE, you're short fused and honestly I think your name matches your personality, a caged, pain inthe @ss grouchy dude. By the way. I like the box, and MS. But dude, come on PS2.- God of War, Colossus, MGS, amongst others. Get a life dude, and Im not being not trying to offend.
a_real_hardcore_gamer @ Apr 26th 2006 11:42AM
My god, you guys are like kids whining over who has the better console. If you are all really "hardcore gamers" then you would appreciate all consoles and what each has done for the gaming industry. Just cos you don't like Halo, doesn't mean it isn't a good game and didn't change the way people thought of FPS's.
As for the "what came first", you should do a little research first:
The FIRST FPS was either 'Spasim' or 'Maze War', made in the 70's. The first genre defining games were arguably Wolfenstein 3D and then Doom which appeared on (now wait for it) the PC AND THEN were ported (with considerable lag) to the SNES. Many games followed and other break-throughs emerged such as Quake (MS again?, well I never!) Duke Nukem 3D and then, of course, GoldenEye.
Now I quote:
"Quake's greatest influence was felt in network-based multiplayer gaming. Quake was the first FPS game to really break out of the LAN and gain a widespread fanbase dedicated to multiplayer Internet gaming.
Quake also innovated by actively encouraging user-made modifications. These "mods" contributed to its longevity and popularity with players; in some cases (such as Team Fortress) they even developed a semi-independent existence."
GoldenEye was absolutely amazing, and I played many hours on it with friends and alone. Both Nintendo and MS can be credited with perfecting a genre while PS has never quite managed to do much with it (NOT AN INSULT before all you fanboys and girls go nuts). What PS has done is brought us utter geneis like MGS (though first a nintendo based game) and the (over copied) Devil May Cry series. All 3, MS, PS and Nintendo have failed to deliver in the past, and will continue to do so (Fable, UMD, etc) but with this they will ALL continue to re-invent genre's and push forward our beloved gaming industry. With that said, Nintendo are the only company that have dedicated their next gen console PURELY for entertainment and to make gaming "fun" again, rather than see how many polygons they can show on screen.
