MGS4, Red Steel and Gears of War get special treatment

Just when you thought the video game megaconference couldn't get any more revealing, they go and tease us with three more titles that are going to be personally demonstrated during the Sneak Peeks event at E3. Each game is going to get the treatment during a special session of 34 presentations from leaders in the industry. In fact, each of the creative forces behind these games are going to be leading the show.
That means the legend himself, Hideo Kojima, will be taking over the reins to demo Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PlayStation 3. While we'd love to get our own grubby paws on the game, it is always an honor to have such icons do their thing in front of a live audience. Red Steel from Ubisoft will get presented by Xavier Poix on the Nintendo Revolution, which is actually an exclusive title. And don't forget everyone's favorite badass, CliffyB, who is going to be there showing off his latest blockbuster Gears of War.
We don't think these "sneek peeks" will cut in to the overall showing of the PS3 (as in it being rare on the showfloor). This program is more in place for the games and all their glory, so we're still hoping to find the PlayStation 3 in good form everywhere else.

All three will be amazing games. Can't wait to pick up each of these.

Here here.

Hope some new gameplay features are revealed for MGS4. I couldn't care less for Gears of War or Red Steel.
X_Arre @ Apr 17th 2006 10:34AM
Wait a second, why is Red Steel even mentioned? It's a revo-exclusive title.
SuicideNinja @ Apr 17th 2006 12:44PM
All 3 games are exclusives, but MGS4 is just a sequel.
I don't see why MGS4 is such a big deal when Splinter Cell 4 is around the corner. I found it hilarious that my room mate thought he couldn't be stealth in SC-PT just because Sam Fisher doesn't wear "camoflauge".
It probably wasn't a good idea to mention the other two games on this blog =. People will get all whiney that the other consoles were mentioned. But I'm excited about the other two games more than MGS4 obviously. Maybe Adams is excited about all three?

OFF TOPIC!
Interesting how this blog always turns into a flam war against the 360, and then the 360 fanboys(not always) jump in to defend.
I say we stop this. PS3 and 360 fanboys, please stop the bickering, no harm intended.
I find comments like the one by "Lcd" disturbing.

Actually Irwin, it's the 360 fanboys the ones that start attacking. I wonder why are the 360 fanboys always trying so hard to look for reasons *not* to buy a PS3? It's hilarious.
Anyway, the comment made by "Lcd" is very similar to the one made by "Suicide Ninja"; except Lcd says it because he wants a PS3, when Suicide Ninja is probably looking for reasons not to buy one.
Just because a game is a "sequel", it doesn't mean it is not an innovative game.
Red Steel, Gears of War... How many games are there for the FPS genre? How many games are there like Metal Gear Solid? (And as acclaimed as it?). At least Red Steel will use a new input method. And at least MGS4 doesn't have so many clones, and graphics don't look like an "O.K." improvement compared to last gen.
I know Suicide Ninja will retaliate with the classical "there are better games than Metal Gear Solid", but just go to any game ranks website (like gamestats.com) and Metal Gear Solid, including the last version, is one of the highest acclaimed titles of all time. Any other like it? Nope.

Im getting MGS4 and Red Steel. I want Gears of War but I cant have 3 consoles..
Im not really that excited about MGS4 though. I enjoyed the first and second one. I did not bother to finish the third one. Kojima better make some huge improvments to MGS to warrant a purchase from me. But somehow I think he will.
cap-n-crunch @ Apr 19th 2006 8:13AM
I'll repect that Irwin. I think we can all agree with that.
I'll also say that a video game being played in a real gamer's hand is a thousand times more impresive and credible then one played by a devolper or showing a flashy prerendered video regradless of what system it's for. I believe all fanboy's can agree to that too.

Can't wait to see Gears of War, looks amazing. Not so excited about Red Steel, those screens looked, uh!
And MGS4, I don't care about. I played MGS1 and it was a good game, but MGS2 and MGS3 sucked so hard i'm surprised they still have fans.
