Final Fantasy XII won't be out for the PS2 in the States until October, but we now have a glimpse of
Final Fantasy XIII thanks to Square Enix's pre-E3 press event -- and this installment in the series won't be coming alone.
Like the different titles in the
Compilation of FFVII collection of games and movies, the initially announced installments in the
FFXIII universe will span multiple platforms which, in this case, include both the PS3 and sufficiently advanced mobile handsets. Not much is known about the mobile-bound
Final Fantasy Agito XIII, but the subtitle-less version of
FFXIII will concern a gun-and-sword-toting heroine in a futuristic world, while
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will focus on "a spiky-haired character," "extreme action elements," and a primary theme of "bonding" (whatever that means). Anybody ready to "resist the world"?
The multiple titles might explain
the earlier rumor reported in March that
FFXIII was "practically close to being finished" (maybe only one of these games was nearing completion). Whatever the case may be, we're just happy that more than one not-so-
Final-Fantasy will be hitting the next PlayStation in relatively rapid succession. RPG feasting: on the way.

Such a shame that these will not see light of day on any other console.

Well, the core final fantasy sequels (meaning not counting the crystal cronicles offshoots, and XI), has been on sony's platforms for over 6 iterations. So its pretty much a given that its PS3 exclusive.

so, does that mean you're getting a PS3, Dan?!?
honestly, i don't know what to think about Square doing this multiple games thing... but i supposed at least it says "we not trying to milk a popular game, we're betting that our games WILL be popular"... or something like that.
we'll see if i get to play it... any of them.

"so, does that mean you're getting a PS3, Dan?!?"
Yup, right you are, Goobers. After all, this is PS3 Fanboy, correct? ;) I suppose it helps if your job revolves around a certain system (and its likely purchase) -- nothing like a career to motivate consumer spending. =)

Goobers, no, nobody that reads PS3fanboy will get a PS3, much less the writers. Yes, to me it would be unbelievable if ANYONE ever thought of buying a PS3. Who would, seriously?
To tell you the truth, I'm a 360fanboy and come here to troll PS3fanboy just to piss PS3 fans (even if there aren't any... which makes me an idiot for even trying to troll in the first place).

I know Dan "IRL". we communicate some what (prolly not as much as we should)... but hey, I never got a chance to ask him (before my ealier post) if he was getting a PS3, actually, i didn't think about it on my Xanga. so up until he put up this blog (which i only stumbled across)... i didn't think he was getting one.
so please, RELAX.
