I can't help but think of that old 80s song Rumors... A lot of people are out there trying to bust sony's b@lls. From that laptop demo that the press said they "faked" (cause they took a pic of the dvd playing laptop not the blu ray one) to the article that the cheaper playstation isn't upgradable nor will it have blu-tooth controllers (lies).
Thing is that a lot of people out there want sony to fail. Are they taking a chance with this machine? Of course they are, but you get a hell of a lot for the $600.
It's funny how the American consumer (myself included) is so easily duped into accepting certain prices. Who here would pay $4.00 for a 2 liter soda? But you'll pay that much for a soda at the movies!
How many people who are crying about the price paid $400 or so for their ipod? Granted it is portable, but it's not a powerhouse of computing and entertainment that ps3 will be.
Bottom line, with no risk you get no reward. Hopefully they will be able to pull it off cause I fear a world with only Kidtendo and MicroSloth...
