Developers crush PS3 rumors of console being "broken"
"I didn't see that slide at Devstation, but all the numbers add up," one coder said, "and it's a total non-issue. You never, ever need to access that memory from the Cell - I can think of some useful debugging things you might do with that access in the testing stage, but that's about it. In fact, on the PS2 you couldn't access that memory from the CPU at all, and it was never really a problem!"

Gee! And I had almost fell for it! The Inquirer is the best source of news, everyone knows, so it's surprising that it gets debunked!

wow, im hoping thats some heavy sarcasm there... the inquirer is on par with game + life's new on its biased opinions and twisted words. though game+life is a bit more humorous

I am just interested in who these devls are... sony in house?
(I dont think the console is broken but most would have come public and said it was fine)

I didn't buy it. It just wasn't plausible. I just can't see IBM skimping on something that would hold such a new architecture back.
Even if it was true to such that it only affected appliations but not gaming, who cares? That would just mean the PS3 sucks as a computer. Despite what Sony wants us to believe, it's not a BlurayStation. It's a Playstation. That's you know, for games?
So...how about they shut up about the BlurayStation taking over the world, and let's see some more tantalizing games like FFXIII. Let's talk about what's in it for the consumer instead of what's in it for Sony.
