Rumor: Oblivion to be ported by Climax UK

Wow, this whole Oblivion news just won't go away. Now, Kotaku is reporting a source (Yeah, I know) told them Climax UK is porting the PSP version of Oblivion.
"The PSP version won't have 512x512 textures, instead relying on something closer to 128x128 textures and true color will likely be replaced by 16 color." Because of these changes, there apparently should be no problems with fitting the game on a UMD.
Some people say, "Where there's smoke, there's fire," and there's been an awfully amount of smoke surrounding Bethesda as of late. EB Games and Gamestop are listing the first-person RPG for $49.99 with a March 15, 2007, release date.

This is like Bethesda's worst kept secret. Can't wait. I hope there is interactivety with the PS3 version.
128x128? Won't the textures be rubbish then?

No.
There is no way that anyone would play ANY game that has 16 colors in this day and age. It chould be Spore and no one would touch it. The SNES had 32,768 colors source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snes
Would you pay 50 bucks for that?

I think what was meant was 16 BIT color, which is a hell of a lot more than just 16 colors.

The SNES had 15-bit color depth, that still isn't too far. That sort of color may have looked cool on sprites, imagine the original Star Fox. Those sorts of colors don't look to pretty on polygons.

The SNES had 15-bit color depth... but could only display 256 colors of those 15-bit at a time. 16-bit color, on the other hand, is 32768 colors. This game isn't going to look like an SNES game.

OK, cool. That makes alot more sense, thanks.
