Medal of Honor: Heroes with 32 player (online) multiplayer
Gamespot's On the Spot recently showcased an exclusive preview of Medal of Honor: Heroes, an upcoming PSP game which Peter Dille accidentally revealed during an interview a few weeks ago. Thankfully, the power of YouTube has given those of us that missed the show a chance to rewatch this amazing trailer. There will be "all new adventures" across "12 new European battlefields." Even more excitingly, there will be 32 player multiplayer, and as -Xenofreak- from the IGN Boards has pointed out, the PSP is capable of only 16-player Ad-Hoc. What does that seem to suggest? Yes, it looks like there might be 32 player ONLINE multiplayer! The game is set to hit in Fall, so the wait won't be too hard.

And what's the DS's record for online multiplayer? 4? ROFL.

I just wondering if it will work, I'm talking about a 1st person shooter on the PSP of course.
So does 32 player online make the game itself more better? Hopefully it does because I'm tempted to pick this game up. Jeez I'm going to be dead broke this fall/winter from all these games for my PSP.
I have to admit that is quite of an achievement on a handheld. Its going to be tough for those DS fanboys to argue about that.

I would assume the controls would work very much like Syphon Filter. And while Evo is making fun of the DS, we should remember that Metroid Prime Hunters will still probably control a lot better than most PSP FPS games.

As much as I love my DS and Metroid Prime Hunters. I don't care how crappy the controls are, being able to pwn 31 other people on a handheld will make me pick up my psp for something other than movies.

Duh, 32 people on 16 adhoc channels means there is a split screen option
Andrew Yoon @ Aug 4th 2006 2:49PM
Haha... oh man, split-screen on the PSP would be absolutely hilarious.

This game looks amazing! if it is 32 players online im there.
I wonder if the Sony PNP will somehow include PSP as well as PS3. That would be killer!

lol so much DS love on PSPFanboy. useless.

as if the controls on that weren't absolute shit. people just ate that up because it was another tired ass franchise that many ninty lovers like the bloggers here convinced themselves wasn't shit.

The controls weren't "shit". The stylus enabled a console/pc hybrid style control. One gets used to it within the first half-hour of gameplay. I'm not nockin' the PSP, but I have yet to see a shooter play as well. I'm hopin' Metal Gear Solid PO or this game will change my mind.

Wow Evo, I though even a PSP fanboy could admit the DS has better FPS controls then the PSP. Its not even an argument. Its just fact.
Evo @ Aug 5th 2006 12:22PM
rofl more blind nintendo followers. don't they have a site for you?
Richard @ Aug 5th 2006 12:28PM
Cool its a exculsive, how about controls? are they going to do like Metroid Prime? where you have the nub control the back, forward and turn left and right movements and a modifier button to strafe (The left Shoulder button) and like the right shoulder for fine aiming, X to fire, Square to reload, Circle as the dedicated grenade button, and triangle to like order teammates?
Burns @ Aug 5th 2006 12:50PM
Am I the only person who thinks neither handhelds can pull off decent FPS controls? MPH kinda worked, but holding the DS in that position got uncomfortable quickly.
pixelator @ Aug 5th 2006 2:41PM
Nope, you're not the only one (though I wouldn't call Metroid Prime 'shit'). For the first few minutes, it feels pretty good to do button/stylus, but then my hands get tired and it just feels like a hassle to juggle/balance the DS (or PDA) in one hand.
No handheld game system has ideal controls for an FPS. The PSP would've been better with a second analog, but one works fairly well - I got used to Coded Arms pretty quickly. And how can one not be amused by Ninty fanboy bashing of single-analog FPS play on the PSP, as if Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on N64 somehow never happened (Gamespot rated PD N64 a 9.9).
Player1 @ Aug 7th 2006 4:44PM
What is wrong with people on here. The Syphon Filter controls would work fine with this game and prove that a FPS is not problem on PSP. DS fanboys need to go back to their own site...or is it so boring you have to come here?
FRL @ Aug 12th 2006 1:28PM
Ouch, this is war here
ds sucks
:D
