New PSP Entertainment Pack coming for $250

Buy.com is now taking pre-orders for the PSP Entertainment Pack. At $250 (the same cost of a Value Pack), it includes a PSP system, 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, sampler UMD, ATV: Offroad Fury game and Lords of Dogtown UMD movie. Is it worth it? Let's find out:
The total price for all of these things combined is $279, which means you save $29 with the Combo, but honestly, unless you wanted to get all of those things, it's better off to get yourself the Core system and a Memory Stick of your choice.

Anything's better than Spiderman 2 the movie. What a waste.
And once you thought it couldn't get more monotonus, he loses his powers. Yea that made for an exciting film.
They should've called it Spider-sense and Sensability.
I haven't seen Lords of Dogstown but I'm sure it's not worth $26. Can't say I'd pay $20 for ATV either.

Absolutely brilliant memory, ZENegade! I knew that pack sounded familiar (but I didn't write that article, so it didn't pop off the top of my head). Star for you.

Notice that this is exactly what the rumors from GenMay predicted? Perhaps this adds to the merit of the rumors no?

I would think that means that the PSP "premium" would also drop down to $200. And the "core" following suit dropping to $150. Just a thought

I wouldn't give it too much credence. Retailers have known about this for a long time since they needed the heads up to adjust their orders and let and stocks of the previous Value Pack drain away. There were other claims in that rumor collection, especially on the PS3 side that were extremely improbable and demonstrated a lack of understanding of the technology by the rumormonger.
OTOH, by that same rumor set's claims, the Lords of Dogtown UMD is exhorbitantly over valued at $26.
This is somewhat better than the original value pack but not by much. A 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo can be had a good deal cheaper at Fry's/Outpost most weeks. While not everybody is a Spider-man 2 fan, it is far more mainstream a choice than Lords of Dogtown. A movie I'd only care to see if it ended with a drive-by shooting wiping out the main characters and changing history to spare the world the preposterous concept of professional sketeboarding.
Finally, I really don't like being locked into a game bundle. It isn't like the old days when a Super Mario World had nearly universal appeal. Seeing as this title is far from the most popular of the early releases, couldn't they have gone for something with wider appeal? Lumines would fill that role better than any other existing PSP game but it isn't owned by Sony.
So, avoid, avoid, avoid. Get the naked PSP and make your own choices.

i would only get it 4 the 1gb card and trade in lords and atv for a less crappy game mabey but would any1 pay for that stuff.
