PS3? That's so outdated! Who needs wires anymore?
Wireless HDMI? Are we insane? Apparently not, according to T3, who recently brought to our attention a creation by Tzero Technologies and Analog Devices. What do you need? One box at your video source, another behind the fancy television, and ta-da! Cable free. For all you safety and protocol nuts, yes, this device does make the quality standard required by most major television manufacturers. How about error rate? We all know wireless stuff messes up more often than something with a hard line. The reliability is an estimated 95%, with an error rate less than one in one-hundred million. The kit goes on sale in November, but no pricing estimate yet. The question is -- will the PS3 be compatible with this technology? Sure, the HDMI cables aren't included even in the 60GB model, but we're okay with that, especially now with this technology on the horizon. So, let's go ahead and discuss: would you shell out the extra dough for this technology if it were PS3 compatible (we're not saying it isn't, we just aren't sure)? Less wires are good, right?

Wireless TV plug and wireless power source would be the ultimate, but that won't happen probably!
Though, for other things, such as the Ethernet cable and wireless controller, I prefer them wired, much better results, more reliable and cheaper.

Actually, I think this has alot to do with the drivers and methodology rather than technology. I have a PC with both Linux and Windows installed. If I boot into Linux and use the Wireless Ethernet, it's flawless. I can't recall a time when I got dropped. Now Windows on the other hand will drop connections if I sneeze wrong.

@anon: Actually, you could power something without wires, but the amperage and magnetic field it would create would not be a very efficient use of power.
I saw a wireless mouse that you could recharge using the specially made mousepad once. It was a concept or a prototype I'm sure, but it was still getting it's power without the need for wires or contacts.

Nick, you may be okay with that, but the general public is not. For Sony to make their so-called true HD console, and not supply the HDMI cable, is just pure stupidity. At least the $400 360 came with component cables.

Why bother with a wireless hdmi? Unless you want to sit next to your PS3 (I guess it would be easier to change games) or have the ps3 in an entirely different room, this device is a waste of money.
I can see this being popular if a family has many HDTV's but only one video source.
Cheers!

the general public wont need hdmi, only what 5-10 % of the nation will, and they probably have hdmi cables ready to be unpluged from their dvd plays to be pluged into the ps3(if they choose to)
