PS3 game caught in the wild?

With the PS3's debut just a couple of months away, it's not surprising that packaging and cases might have entered the printing and assembly process already (with the game disks to be added in as we get closer to launch). If that's the case, then we've got a brave spy at the printing plant who snagged a Sonic case in all of its PS3/Blu-Ray glory. Or, it's just a really good fake. Either way, this is the best peek at what the new PS3 games are going to look like sitting on the store shelf. Very nice.

WOW! That box design is beautiful. They look way better than the 360s. I love the nostalgia factor of it looking like the PSOne box art.

I wonder what the ONLINE ENABLED emblem will look like.

I dunno - I'm very tempted to call it Photoshopped because of the jagged edges on the right side, but either way, it looks pretty awesome.

It might be a fake... You can easily buy a Blu-Ray movie and put a printed image in front or in the plastic case area... I think I'll consider this one fake until Sega or Sony reveals it.

I like the fact these these game boxes will be alot smaller than current DVD boxes. It also makes sense to have a different optical media have a different box. You don't see CDs in DVD boxes (not legitimately anyway).

The Blu-ray boxes are wider and a little bit thinner than than actual DVD cases.....also SONIC THE HEDGEHOG appears on the side edge

So now we get to buy all new storage racks to hold the new formats... and we don't even know which format will be the eventual winner. It's cool if they are all similar in size, but I'm betting the Wii and 360 are the only two to come in standard DVD size (I'm guessing with the Wii...).

Don't like the Blu-Ray thing at the top either. Imagine if these days every DVD had a big section at the top exclusively reserved to say DVD.

Its too bad these are fake in my opinion. I love this idea. I love how the blu ray has its name at the top of the case, how their transparent. All that good stuff. I mean its a lot nicer than the generic current DVD cases. If it was just a regular dvd case then I wouldn't get that "next gen feel" lol... Well neways I hope they choose to make them this way. cuz "Im Luvin it"

Normally I'd stop myself from debunking our own sites posts, but this is definitely fake and here's why: the ESRB hasn't rated Sonic yet. This mock-up has a rating. The end. It's fake. It's very easy to slide a printed-out page into an existing blu-ray case.

It's fake. It uses an exsisting box art released not too long ago on GameFront, you can still see some of the watermark near the top left of the image. It's just a print out inside a generic blu-ray case with an inlay not much more than a few blew up pictures, screen grabs and a load of logos you can already aquire. Sorry, but it's a very nicely done hoax. By the way, the Blu-Ray cases are ugly.

Why has no one mentioned the fact that this very well may be a mock up. If I work in marketing, and I need a mock up of a non existant product, what is the easiest thing to do? I take images of cover art from the 360 title or pictures of the actual cover art to be scanned to the art department, have them photoshop the PS3 logos etc, and then throw put it all on/in an empty BD sleeve.
Then I have my mock up for presentation.

And then again...maybe it's just someone on the net having fun...
