Ape Escape downloadable demo

We knew it was only going to be a matter of time before the downloadable game demos from Tokyo Game Show found their way onto the internet for all of us to enjoy. The latest demo for you to download to the system is Ape Escape Racer. Although it didn't get the best previews, this demo will let you make your own decision on the quality of the game. ~~Unfortunately, you will need homebrew-destroying firmware 2.81 to run the demo.~~ This updated file will work on firmware 2.80 and above.

1. Download the demo ZIP file.
2. Extract the contents of the ZIP file.
3. Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable.
4. Go to the PSP/GAME folder.
5. Copy UCUS98655 folder into the GAME directory.

While it's too bad you need firmware 2.81, more demos is always a good thing. Not sure if I want to upgrade for just Ape Escape, though...but if more start coming up (Bounty Hounds, Ridge Racer...), I'll be tempted. Mighty tempted.

Actually i tied in vain to download at TGS and could not
even after spending roughly 2 hours in their booth.

It doesn't work! first it goes to the psp screen when i acess it and then it turns the psp off. i'd thought it was weird since it was such a small file.

@Silver R. Wolfe: All Josh did was hexedit the version stamp in the file from 2.81 to 1.50. There doesn't appear to be any other changes. This might work for 2.80 firmware but, I don't believe it works for the 1.50.

Thanks for informing us of this one: and every other demo I have jacked into my psp.
Seriously. You guys are awsome; the only demo I would've found on my own was the loco roco demo.
Speaking of demos; I Finally Got my Gangs of London demo umd and it aint too bad. I kind of wish they included one of the pub games and a bit of the Dead Rising rip off mod but as a Guy Richie fan, I'm tempted to pick up the full version and change my name to Bricktop.

I'm definitely going to try this demo although I kind of wish they chose one of the other TGS games. Any of the other TGS games actually. I'm not really too into MarioKart and to tell you the truth, after the Burnout games, I have a boring time playing any other driving game.

Man. Now with these demos becoming common stuff, I wonder if they'll release a Vice City Stories demo, that'd be swell. Just one mission or something.. I'd love to see some good WESTERN games for a change on demo, like Medal of Honor, Brothers in Arms PSP, Killzone Liberation, VCS, NFS: Carbon, maybe some more sports games etc... i'm getting sick of all these Japanese demos...

In my perfect world, EVERY game would HAVE to have a demo before release, and come with GAME SHARING supporting minimum 8 players, AD-HOC supporting min 8 players and INFASTRUCTURE with min 16 - 32 players. With the vast amount of games on the market, too often do I find myself in a room full of PSP's, but we can't play multiplayer because we all have different games... :(

But hey, we don't live in a perfect world. Or do we?
