Woohoo, more demos from TGS! There's some heavy Japanese text with this one, but I can confirm that it does indeed work on firmware 2.80.
Note that the game menu screen has multiplayer game sharing -- yes, you read that right, GAME SHARING -- on there, too! You input a server name with the PSP's text entry, it seems, before the demo is actually shared over. Either way, it's awesome that it's on here and I wish other demos like Killzone had multiplayer game sharing instead of disc-run ad-hoc or no multiplayer at all.
Also note that even though the PSP menus will change to an Asian text (i.e., pressing "Home" to quit the game shows the foreign characters; remember, you select with O), but it only affects the demo and does not extend to the XMB menus.
The Bounty Hounds demo itself is a nice little distration and might be good to get as a rental or at a cheap price. Combat looks interesting.

Ahh, one correction to my post above: The Killzone: Liberation UMD demo does NOT feature game sharing, only local ad-hoc multiplayer. I worded my sentence pretty badly, so just wanted to make sure nobody got confused.
Anyway, this demo's pretty fun and worth the download - loads quick, too.

Thanks Michae for the tips.
Nice, I was hoping for this demo, cause I was very curious about the game. Hope we get more demos from the TGS!

I downloaded it and screwed around with Challenge mode for a while (since I don't know anybody else that owns a PSP)...here are my impressions:
1. Buttons seem to "stick" sometimes - I was using the sword/rocket launcher combo for a good portion of the stage, and sometimes when I'd stop pushing the attack buttons, the rocket launcher would keep firing.
2. It sure looks pretty, but that's true of several PSP games. I do like the graphical style, though.
3. I was able to completely cheap-shot the boss (enemy #100) by standing a fair distance away and just shooting him repeatedly with the Laser Eye and rocket launcher. Since the weapons "reload" times don't prohibit you from using the weapon in your other hand, I was able to hit him with a near-constant volley of laser and rocket fire until he was quite close (at which point I finished him off with the gargantuan spiked mallet).
I didn't particularly enjoy this demo from the meager portion I was given...I'm sure the full version is much more interesting (I bet it'd be more fun if I were given more weapons and enemies that actually put up a fight).
Still, though, you can't beat Free. Try it for yourself - I ain't stoppin' ya.

wildweasel:
I learned that there are actually other weapons you can get in the demo. If you get rid of an enemy and their corpse lies on the court for a period of time, go over to it and press the L button. It'll bring up an interface and let you pick up an item that the enemy had equipped (armor, etc.), and if you choose a weapon out of the selection, it'll replace the one you're currently carrying.
So far, I've found the enemy's weaponry to perform worse in combat, but it's something.

Has anybody found out what the point is in the game? :-)
ronturon @ Sep 30th 2006 8:48AM
wooohooo! more demos! keep 'em coming!

I think this demo is ok. You barrly get any gameplay though. It kind of made me mad at frist then I got used to it. The wepons were preety sweet and so were the monsters. I liked the lock on option it is like Ghost in a shell. But The best part was the boss fight. I think that was fun. Easy but fun. I would probably buy this game. I wish they had did something like this with MGS:PO.

Another correction to my original findings in the first post - I think the demo is ad-hoc only for wireless play, and not done with game sharing. The menu reads "Game Sharing" on the bottom right, but I guess that just meant that the demo itself was game-shared originally.
I haven't had the chance to try it out with anyone, though.

I found this demo to be fun. It really is going to make me take a hard look at the full bounty hounds game. The demo wasn't that challenging but I have higher hopes for the full game. I really did like the on the fly weapon change system. I found it was really easy to get to the weapon you want. It might be harder to do that if you are carrying more weapons though.

I really enjoyed this demo, I'm sure the real game will be great!

Demo made me look at it as a rent. Could have shown off a little bit more, but hey... its more than nothing.
Nukester @ Oct 1st 2006 6:30AM
Is there any other demos from the psp spots because i have ape escape racers and the bounty hounds one.
Colin @ Oct 1st 2006 8:05PM
@10
So... you liked the REAL TIME WEAPON CHANGE???
But, srsly now.
This game looks pretty interesting. However the camera angle made it a little harder to enjoy this game. Also, I wish it were easier to switch what weapons for what when you stand on top of a fallen enemy. It was fine, but I don't think I'll be buying this game.
Nukester @ Oct 2nd 2006 9:38AM
has anyone been to the psp spots with any of the other demos. please upload them and send a link
Gonzo @ Oct 2nd 2006 12:14PM
Wondering that myself Nukester.
One things for sure, if there are more demos, they'll end up being mentioned here. I've found all my psp demos through this site.
Maybe it's time they put a link for articles on "Demos" in the Bits index. There seem to be one or two new ones every month.
I haven't tried this game yet but I hope this demo will pleasantly surprise me like Gangs of London.
daniel @ Nov 9th 2006 9:27PM
I cant download that one mercury game i cant get it to my psp so any body who does please show me because i really want that game demo to see if i want to buy it
Cigrahtel @ Dec 20th 2006 1:31PM
I like the demo. It wasn't difficult to figure out the buttons. I also found that you can defeat the 100th enemy with cheap shots. I used the war hammer thing repeatedly as soon as he fell on the ground.
I too, would like to know what the point of the game is.
Anyway, this is a easy-going kill everything that isn't you game.
