The Sony brand in trouble? Subjective, schmubjective
On the other side of all these analysts claiming Sony will kick the competition to the curb after a few years... there are those who believe the brand of Sony is in trouble -- the brand name may no longer garner enough support to get consumers to pay the high price. Ugh, focusing on price again... did the pre-order madness not indicate that people will whine, but will still spread their wallets wide open when the time comes? Anyway, let's look at this anti-Sony argument.Fitch Research analyst Tatsuya Mizuno says Sony has "not been able to capitalize on its competitive strengths, including strong electronics expertise and huge movie and music software libraries." The PS3 will also demand a longer recoup period for the costs of manufacturing compared to the PS2 -- due both to more competition and to the battery fiasco.
Another place, Kuriyama's Hovel on MySpace (instantly passable as worthless -- MySpace is ridiculous), said this lovely tidbit about Sony's hypothesized holiday loss: "Of course by this time next year they'll be decrying pirates as the reason they've failed to establish a substantial foothold in the next-gen market ... After the genius of releasing the Playstation originally, they really have done their best to run themselves into the ground." Have they? It's been a rough year, but is that really all it takes to destroy a company? We'll continue to believe the PS3 will pull through and Sony will flick these annoying flies away from its face. In any case, check out the article for the other pieces we missed -- LCD TV competition, etc. It's all good, but it's about as true as the pro-Sony advocates. Meaning we just don't know.

Tried to buy a Sony Reader yet? My Sony store in SF sold out within hours. All online pre-orders went in a flash. Reviews of this thing were abysmal: over-priced, not worth it, etc. But it's selling like hot-cakes. PS3 will be the same. I've had concerns for Sony this year too (hello battery recall), but they actually produce cool electronics and next year will be a huge year for them. Hmmm... have Sony stock gone down recently? Might be time to cash in.
Hoopster @ Oct 16th 2006 2:37PM
Sony consistently ranks very high in public brand perception (cant recall what the name of that annual brand report is) along with MS and Apple.
This year has been worst than it really appears to made to appear; and, just because a few fanboys scream really loud and set up a webpage; doesnt change the reality. Im not worried; let the fanboys get their panties in a knot over this; it changes nothing.
dudeugotnochanceinhell @ Oct 16th 2006 2:56PM
yeh im noticing everyone is hating on sony so im hoping sony beats the living snot out of the xbox 360 so that this perception that microsoft is cool, hip, amd superior ends. and yes i am a sony "fanboy" i have a vaio tx650p all the playstations, tv yada yada.
Edge of Blade @ Oct 16th 2006 3:40PM
"did the pre-order madness not indicate that people will whine, but will still spread their wallets wide open when the time comes?"
No. Crazy ADHD fanboys that can generate enough heat because of the naturally accelerated nature of their molecules can wait outside a store all night to preorder a handful of consoles. Brat kids can throw a fit until their parents stake out their claim in line. Scalpers can identify an obvious demand.
You obviously can't tell that preorders of an extremely limited number of consoles don't mean shit.
You fanboys are just about as dumb as Sony is. You are playing directly to their quotes that they can price it at whatever and deliver anything and you will pay whatever they ask because Sony regards you as sheep...and rightfully so.
Hoopster @ Oct 16th 2006 3:50PM
edge; get a life; you're exactly the loud mouth; smart ass fnaboy i mentioned in my previous post ...
Just because you and your fanboy buddies can anonymously post your sony-hate on this blog (and others) doesnt mean that the general public feels the same way.
You can scream all you want, call names, etc .. in the end it changes nothing because you're a nobody and fanboys such as yourself are irrelevant.
rabbits foot @ Oct 16th 2006 4:29PM
Sony's stock plummeting almost 3 percent in one day on news of overheating PS3's and other production problems is not irrelevant. Sony's horrible manufacturing track record and PR fiascos is indeed destroying the brand. And all of these proprietary formats they keep coming out with is rediculous. Sony just released a new MP3 player that won't be Plays for Sure compatible and only works with their own proprietary ATRAC format.
The PS3 is more of the same...Poor manufacturing (Cell, Internal Power Supply, PS3 Controller)proprietary formats that no-one cares about (UMD, MemoryStick, Blu-Ray, BetaMax, Mini Disc...am I missing any?) and a Ho-Hum online plan that is so lacking in it's execution in anthing else than on paper that developers are removing online functionality from their games citing Sony incompetence.
Of course the Sony Brand is in trouble. One of their few profit centers...the Entertainment branch that deals with the PlayStation is going to loose Billions a year for the next few years instead of make a profit as they have for the last 5 years.
Sony is also taking a huge gamble...betting the entire farm on Blu-Ray. So far Blu-Ray is not looking so hot. They have this silly concept of Blu-Ray helping the PS3 sell...and the PS3 helping blu-ray sell...Well you can't have it both ways. If Gamers buy the PS3 and don't give two craps about Blu-Ray then it's inclusion was all for not. And by the looks of it so far, the PS3 is the only thing that can pull Blu-Ray as a format out of the Dulldrums.
How can any reasonable person look at these facts and not see that the Sony Brand just might be in a hella trouble?
Edge of Blade @ Oct 16th 2006 4:30PM
Anonymously? I'm right here and have posted under the name Edge of Blade for years. Look me up on Xbox Live or on several forums.
Only a fanboy would play right into Sony's hands. Which I have shown this post to be doing.
Sony treats you like an idiot. Have you listened to them lately? They are so full of it. The rest of the industry sees it, yet you are blind to it. Sony touts their brand as so strong that you will buy anything with PS logo on it. I don't feel like getting jerked around by a dog collar and it pisses me off that there are people so stupid in this world that they will allow themselves to be likewise jerked around.
Are you wise enough to weigh your decisions or are you going to buy into the bullshit hype like everyone else, defending Sony until it's too late?
I'm no fanboy. I am a hate boy. I hate Sony for ALL their trasgressions across the ENTIRE company. Sony Pictures fake movie reviewer. Their DRM fiasco. Their lunatic execs. Tell me there isn't some seriosuly funkified shit going on. But you still let Ken and Kaz spin wild stories of their superiourity on account of a few bullet points they convinced you to believe were important. Browsers. 1080p (which Xbox 360, is inexplicably implementing out of their ass). Tilting controller.
It's all a marketing game to them. However, there are more people than ever questioning Sony and looking for substance. Once they take their PS-colored glasses off, they see Sony for what they really are. Sony might have lead you from the "kiddy" games of Nintendo or Sega, they are quickly losing touch and their magic tricks are getting old.
I'm siding with two companies that at least promote a view of themselves that they are a gamer's company...and I beleive it. I played Uno against J Allard. You will NEVER play against Ken Kutaragi.
I'm not saying there is no yanking of the chain...there will always be yanking of the chain..., but at least they are regarding me as intelligent.
MS and Nintendo treat me with respect, and I in turn return the sentiment. Sony treats me and you like an idiot. I, again, return the sentiment.
Aex @ Oct 16th 2006 5:36PM
How exactly does Nintendo and Microsoft treat you with respect?
Lets see... Nintendo is selling you old technology, with old games and a new controller mechanism. Why didnt the just throw this controller scheme into the gamecube? Nintendo has always had overpriced accessories and useless addons, which are necessary for one to two games of their console. Recall the GBA adaptor, the modem, the ethernet port, the GBA player, The Drum, lets not forget the mass of $25-$35 cables that don't even add a benefit to Nintedo's systems. Oh yea, let's remember how they respect you with their love of 3rd party support, not to mention their support of the gamecube... oh wait, thats right, they gave up on the gamecube to promote the wii. Oh yea, thats right, remember all those games they had on nintendo, snes, and n64, they are going to respect you more by allowing you to rebuy these games online for $5 or more. Oh, lets not forget the pricing and bundle of the wii, thats $250 of respectable profits for Nintendo right there. Yea, Nintendo respects you ALOT.
On to Microsoft? Well, I like the 360, but Xbox Live $50 a year. Core system without a HDD (which is necessary), 20gb HDD proprietary formatting $100. Oh yea, the backwards compatibility is great too!
Of course Sony doesn't respect us either. Come on their core system is basically a premium without wifi and a card reader! Not to mention the community support sony provides (not customer support, community support).
They are all businesses, they have their plans to make money. Sony is just honest. People will buy the ps3 because its a ps3. People will buy Sony because they are Sony. Yet, Sony still gives us a good deal. They don't stop supporting their systems the day they announce their next one in line. I payed $250 for my ps2 and it still gives me great games on nearly a monthly basis, this is with the new system coming out. Where is that support by MS or Nintendo? A game made by nintendo for the gamecube, comes out on the wii a month before it comes out on the gamecube? hmm, Yea, lots of respect there.
I don't buy playstation products because Sony does/doesn't respect me, just the same I don't buy Microsoft or Nintendo because they "respect" me. I buy them because they are good products. I have had a great history with them, I enjoyed my PS1 throughly, I enjoy my PS2 throughly, I enjoy my PSP throughly, and in a year or two from now, I'll enjoy my PS3 throughly.
Aex @ Oct 16th 2006 5:39PM

Jeff P @ Oct 16th 2006 7:51PM
Eh, spelling is not important, but I know some people will flame for poor spelling.
I'm somewhat on the fence with the 360 vs ps3. I think both consoles have positives and negatives.
Areas that I agree with Sony fanboys is that the ps3 will have very good and fun to play games. It is a very powerful console.
Areas I agree with 360 fanboys is that the bullet points that fanboys love to harp on...such as 1080p, the tilt controller, and the all important internet browser are not that important and just for marketing

Don't like Sony? Boo hoo! Why don't you cry about it? Now move a long. Bill Gates needs his slippers. Fetch!
rabbits foot @ Oct 16th 2006 8:29PM
Aex...so you don't think Sony lets monkey poo fly out of their mouths every chance they get?
MS has done a much better job than either Sony or Nintendo at letting consumers know what to expect...and usually exceeding expectations. MS has a track record of listening to the market and making changes to accomodate user feedback.
Remember the Duke controller? MS was listening when it made the Controller S standard. Remember Xbox Live in it's infancy? MS made lots of changes and additions to improve the experience...and they still are. The last Xbox 360 dashboard update fixed and added a whole shlew of things that users requested.
Ever heard of Majornelson.com? You Sony fanboys love to hate Major...but the truth is...he receives user input directly and responds via blog post and podcast. Ever heard of Bungie? Yeah they created Halo and Halo2...they have been taking user input for years now on Halo2 matchmaking and have done their best to accomodate what they are hearing from gamers.
This years E3...can you tell me one thing you heard from MS that has since been retracted or proved to be completely false (not including game release dates). They were upfront...showed games and product and didn't spew out hours of boring hyperbole.
How was Sony's press conference at E3? Horrible...Riiidge Raccer! $600! Suxaxis! No Rumble! No dual HDMI! Historical Crabs, 2 Sku's even though they swore up and down the MS was making a mistake when they announced 2 Skus and a lousy GTA-"HD". And no mention of online plans.
Still to this day even after E3 and Tokyo Game Show & a recently released press statement detailing PS3 features...we still don't know what the hell anyone is really going to get when they turn on their PS3 on day one. Several developers have removed online play entirely from their PS3 version of their games...why because Sony is not ready in the Online department. Others are pushing back online centric titles...just today theres reports that Call of Duty 3 for PS3 will be pushed back till May. Probably because Sony's online plans aren't fleshed out enough for them to bring a Title with such huge focus on Multiplayer to the market.
If Sony were listening to it's fanbase...why remove Rumble? why not Improve upon the crappy controller design to make it more friendly to FPS? Why force Blu-Ray down everyones throats at a $200 premium? why not have a centralized online network like Xbox Live instead of farming the work out to Xfire and individual game developers? Why not show a single game being played online? Why not include HDMI or component cable so folks can get HD out of the box? Why not SHUT THE HELL UP?
Caramella Bongo ... how are you today? @ Oct 16th 2006 9:16PM
ok .. ill bite:
"If Sony were listening to it's fanbase...why remove Rumble?"
Cause they dont want to give immersion any more moneys.
"why not Improve upon the crappy controller design to make it more friendly to FPS? "
You want FPS? Go to xbox..thats what its all about; all their top games are either FPS, racing, or sports. The 360 controller is made for FPS because that is 360's one and only strength.
"Why force Blu-Ray down everyones throats at a $200 premium? "
Some people like ME want an integrated solution, not some hd-dvd dongle. Let see who is laughing in 3 years when 360 games are crippled by lack of media space.
"why not have a centralized online network like Xbox Live instead of farming the work out to Xfire and individual game developers? "
Why not give it a shot before you flame? You have no idea how its going to turn out. It might be better. How the hell do you know; your fanboism is shining clear and through here.
"Why not show a single game being played online? "
There are multiplayer Resistance videos on GameInformer; go check it out before you start shouting. And you fail to mention that Wii has NO multiplayer as well; I guess Nintendo is in the same boat right?
"Why not include HDMI or component cable so folks can get HD out of the box? "
ughhh... wheres the Wii or XBOX HDMI cable ..of yea, Wii is using a resolution standardised 50 years ago. And xbox has no chance od HDMI. Once again, your fanboism shines through; just ignore the obvious shortcomings of xbox and wii while laying on the hate for PS3.
"Why not SHUT THE HELL UP?"
Yea, thats really mature there; come onto PS3FANBOY and shout PS3 hate; youre just some hoser who cant get their way in life so you come here and vent because its easy behind that keyboard and monitor.
Andir2.0 @ Oct 16th 2006 10:09PM
@rabbits foot:
You forgot to mention that the new Sony MP3 player plays standard MP3s which to me is the only standard format, not just ATRAC encoded ones.
Also, wasn't there just news that the Zune won't play "Plays for Sure" stuff? Isn't that Microsoft's own format?
Oh, I forgot, this little piece of information wasn't relevant in slamming Sony.
Tom @ Oct 16th 2006 11:02PM
@Caramella Bongo & rabbits foot
"Some people like ME want an integrated solution, not some hd-dvd dongle."
And people like ME want neither HD-DVD nor Bluray. I only care about games on a game console. There are still some people like us left. If I can get my game on for $200 less, that's a very compelling reason to go with Xbox 360.
"Wii has NO multiplayer as well"
Sure they do, or atleast they're going to. That's what WiiConnect24 is for. I do think Sony will end of having a stronger online gaming experience, nevertheless I am looking forward to playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl online.
"Wii is using a resolution standardised 50 years ago."
Actually Wii uses 480p, which is noticably better than 480i.
"And xbox has no chance of HDMI."
That greatly depends on two things: 1) The port on the X360 can output a digital signal and 2) They ever release an HDMI connector. At this point we just don't know.
"just ignore the obvious shortcomings of xbox and wii while laying on the hate for PS3."
That's where all this supposed hipocrisy kinda gets tricky. Shortcomings are acceptable if the price is right. At $250/$400, a lack of HD/HDMI is something one is able to look past, but PS3 is the highest end machine, so naturally people are going to bitch about what it DOESN'T have, since there's just no BETTER alternative. It doesn't mean they're fanboys. It only means they're frugle.
" 'Why not SHUT THE HELL UP?' Yea, thats really mature there *sarcasm*"
Agreed. No matter what system you favor we can all make good points for an against the competition, but let's try to keep it civil, okay folks?
Here's something to consider. I like my PS2 and my PSP, and I might like the PS3... someday, when there is plenty of great software out and the price has come way way down. What is so wrong with this? I'm not anti-Sony or anti-PS3... I'm just at a time right now where I like what I'm seeing from Nintendo and MS right now. There's no reason for us to be fighting about this stuff. It's just a game afterall.
Edge of Blade @ Oct 16th 2006 11:42PM
17. Congraulations. You got to use the word "dongle" today. Does that make you feel good?
What is the point of an "integrated" package? What is the value of that? I'll tell you the value to me. I don't have to pay for it on the 360 if I don't want it. And you are kidding youself and...dare I say it again...you are playing right into Sony's hands. Blu-ray has NOTHING to do with games.
Don't you realise that Sony games will take up more than DVD9 just so Sony can prove their point that you "need" blu-ray? Are you so gullible? Please...for the sake of my children who will share the world with the spawn of your loins...tell me you are not that gullible.
This is not some bar developers have try to jump over. They can just get lazy and let their games inflate. Then Sony will turn around with their bloated junk of a game and say "Look we have to take 4 gigs just to load one Lair level. You can't do this without blu-ray!" Bullshit.
Now to the quotes: "Sony is just honest."
No comment. I can't say anything on that subject that hasn't already been said.
But I will. How about, coming out spring 06? Remember how long that ran that lie just to keep people from adopting the Xbox 360.
"community support"
That's a good one. Mobilizing an uninformed mob to defend the PS name like it's their little sister is hardly "community support". MS has a fanbase they earned, not because they are Microsoft. Because they listened and responded, sparing no expense. $4 billion worth of getting your foot in the door shows people you care. And Microsoft didn't even flinch. And Nintendo has had a fanbase they earned long ago, and they still have the best game designs, bar none.
Granted, the core is nothing special. Granted, the HDD is essential.
BTW, Rabbits foot gets my respect for paying attention.
10. Yes, Microsoft is in the business of marketing, too. Everyone is in the business of marketing. That's why I said there will always been chain yanking. But what else are you refering to?
In closing, and getting back to my original point, pre-orders of a very limited number of consoles doesn't mean shit. The people who camped out and will camp out for PS3 or Wii do not represent the normal consumer.
Edge of Blade @ Oct 16th 2006 11:42PM
And why shouldn't I believe that Xbox 360 can output 1080p through VGA or component...which I use. HDMI is a hoax. It's almost like digital is a buzzword now. This is getting stupid. My signal is just fine. I could care less if a geek walks into my house and says "Cool HDTV. How is it connected? Oh really. Well, HDMI is better." Then, I will ask why and his head will explode in a "TEH DIGITAL!!!" crimson fountain.
I'd like to see PS3 support VGA. It would let people play HD without an HDTV. But we won't see THAT happen.

rabbits foot @ Oct 17th 2006 1:51AM
I absolutely agree that the Zune is crap simply for the fact that it won't support plays for sure. I have used Yahoo, URGE and Napster all on one MP3 player.
Xbox360 is plays for sure compatible...PS3 is not.
"Why not give it a shot before you flame? You have no idea how its going to turn out. It might be better. How the hell do you know; your fanboism is shining clear and through here."
Don't you get it by now...it's one month before launch...they are asking us all to believe in an purchase this product without even showing online play at all. And you give Sony a pass? Only Sony would get away with such rediculousness. Many folks want to see the Goods and aren't just going to take Sony's word for it.
Resistance Fall of Man was on a closed local network. A far cry from online play. Don't you think...and only that one game showed any multiplayer??? And that of course is all negated by the fact that developers are cutting out online play for PS3 versions of games because Sony is not ready. Call of Duty 3 was recently shown to reporters behind closed doors...and the multiplayer was only shown for the 360...why? I'm sorry but Sony does not get a Free pass there.
"ughhh... wheres the Wii or XBOX HDMI cable"
The $399 360 comes with a Component cable. In case you don't know...Component cable is perfectly good for carrying 720p, 1080i and even 1080p to TV's that can handle it. Those are all true HD signals contrary to Sony hype.
When I said Why not shut the hell up...I was referring to the clear sentement by Sony fans and all on the net for Sony's executives to just shut up and stop saying rediculous things that embarass themselves, their company and their fans. I didn't mean that as a rude slam to anyone...but Sony execs seriously need to simply SHUT THE HELL UP!
"Some people like ME want an integrated solution, not some hd-dvd dongle. Let see who is laughing in 3 years when 360 games are crippled by lack of media space."
I've had my 360 for almost a year now. In 3 years it will have been 4 years. You just made my point. I'm certainly glad I didn't have to pay $200 extra to worry about something so trivial that may or may not happen in 4 years. If I have to play a game stretched over two Disc in a few years so what? I already remove my DISC multiple times in the course of playing through a game. Sony's biggest mistake is pawning the PS3 as a Blu-Ray Trojan horse and forcing you to pay for it. You will probably realise this in 1 year by which time Blu-Rays failure may be very evident.
Andir2.0 @ Oct 17th 2006 8:39AM
I have to give credit to this whole blogger line. They really get people worked up. Over what?
I mean, we can take the conspiracy angle here and say that Microsoft pays these kids to go out on the forums and raise hell. To that I add, if your such a fan of your XBox, why aren't you playing it now instead of trolling a blog? What motivates you to come here and try to "convert" people. Are there ulterior motives? If you love Live so much, why are you still coming here instead of chatting with your friends who apparently live there too? It doesn't make any sense to me. If I were not anticipating a system, I would definately not be on one of the sites trying to promote it. In fact, I can't think of the last time I was even on a 360 site. It was probably 10 months ago when I was doing my research.
So, what motivates one to rant down any good news of an opposing system? Is it fear? Do you feel your purchase will be a failure? (or has been a failure) Do you feel like your trying to help us see the light? Do you really think that if you hype up your 360 till your head explodes that Microsoft will love you and spread X-goo on your forehead for being a loyal fan? I'll pass on that.
I guess I just don't understand your points. You say that the 360 gives you choice in what addons you take. Sony gives the developers choice to what online middleware service fits their needs best. It's competition. Get those services out there competing with each other for a piece of the pie. One may actually integrate everything you would ever want out of gaming instead of waiting for Microsoft to upgrade. Sorry, but I have to take the developer stance on this as a developer myself. I don't like what Microsoft crams downpeople's throats. Sure it may be easy for someone to pick up a keyboard, type a few words and have something show on the screen, but it's horribly inefficient at doing it. People will scream off the balcony, "I used XNA and made a porkchop fly out my ass!" and I will tell them to sit down and shut up until they can make it do 60,000 times that. It's all like .NET. Smoke and mirrors.
You say BluRay is not needed. I will point you to Dark Messiah (in stores now) and direct you to the downloadable install size. 10G+ I'm in a beta for another game that will near 30G installed. This isn't just uncompressed video. In fact, there is no video in this game. The meshes for the landscape alone are 8G. And can I tell you the game looks really awesome. Of course, they pay for it in size. Games in the past have not had polygons counts and texture sizes like what is coming down the line. These games are coming. Are you ready for them? You got your disc swapping sneakers on? I hope your wireless controller works well when you relocate your console closer to the couch to swap discs.
Am I "falling for Sony's lies"? I don't know how I can. I only own one Sony device now. I take that back. I have two Sony things. A pair of ear buds to listen to music at work and my PS2. I can't say that speaks much of my brand support. I think they make decent stuff, but I'll take my Hitachi TV, pair it to my Denon amp, Klipsh speakers and when I get my hands on the PS3, I'll plug it in right with the rest.
Hoopster @ Oct 17th 2006 9:03AM

Wee! Closure.
I also want to add that I troll forums during breaks at work. I really don't have a lot of time during any given 24 hour period to play games. I'm hardcore in terms of dedication to gaming, but casual in terms of time.
I will answer one question: "What motivates you to come here and try to "convert" people. Are there ulterior motives?"
Microsoft doesn't pay me anything. It would be nice if they did...heaven knows they could afford it. It would help them penetrate the market further, but I would have moral qualms about pumping up a product just because I'm getting paid to.
I feel the need to convert people because I find Sony to be a corrupt company after all the crap they have gotten themselves into. How about their decision to plant a fake reviewer ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/3524759.stm )? Or the DRM issue? Or the universal practice of shilling bullshit anytime a microphone is shoved in their face?

I think was boils your blood is that Sony has loyal fans. Oh well...
>>> Yes, Microsoft is in the business of marketing, too. Everyone is in the business of marketing. That's why I said there will always been chain yanking. But what else are you refering to?>>>
So, it's "marketing" when M$ does it. But "BS" when Sony does it. Ah, I see now...thanks. >>>In closing, and getting back to my original point, pre-orders of a very limited number of consoles doesn't mean shit. The people who camped out and will camp out for PS3 or Wii do not represent the normal consumer.>>>
What? Are you giving your valediction? Listen, the PS3 will sell like hot-cakes whether you like it or not. And as the price comes down each year more and more people will buy. I know you hate this. But just do what I said before and cry about it. Boo hoo!
Here's a link to your "model" compnay....

Im kind of a nintendo fanboy but I think that the sony brand is in trouble this year they have lost loads due to battery recalls and they have kept dissapointiing fans like no hdmi in 20gb then endless console delays for europe . many prople who are not hardcore are leaving sony this is the past
Nintendo and sony are both good brands but nintendo hasn't been good since ps1
sony has been really good and I love my ps2 tho
but now nintendo has a great fun looking console that looks good and has loads of good publicity it will sell loads at christmas because it is a cheap price under £200 and looks great fun people will see one and want one like with psp or ipod
people will not buy ps3 because game are expensive and the console cost is double the wii(nothing wrong with ps3 it has good tech but looks expensive + what stuff does it bring that people who arnt gamers or hdtv owners can see) and it does not have the new type of controller that wii does or the amazing publicity that wii is getting from everywhere
i thinkl sony will lose this console war and loads of money which they may not recover from this sad because sony is good and they have been let down by bad press which they 50% deserve)and there is nothing wrong with the company

"like no hdmi in 20gb then endless console delays for europe"
The 20G does have HDMI, and there was only one delay for Europe.
