Fight Night Round 3 shows off
The port of Fight Night Round 3 is just around the corner and EA has seen fit to release the game's official trailer to the desperate masses. Like its Xbox 360 sibling, the game is looking very nice. The new first person mod looks to add an extra spark to this brawler. If you haven't already played through this excellent game (it's the best thing to come out of EA in a long time), make sure to pick it up when it hits stores on December 12..

Only thing that could make this game better would be some wii-mote controls. Left Hook! Block! Jab! would be a lot more fun if they weren't just buttons you tap. Sigh.

shut up about the wii motes

Considering after a 9 round match my character has thrown hundreds of punches, I really don't want to be doing that myself physically. :p
Plus, thats just silly. The control in Fight Night is incredibly intuitive and really makes you feel like you are directly controlling the boxer - as opposed to 'just' pressing buttons. I wouldn't want it changed.
Personally I'm looking forward to this; in spite of my roommate who has been trying to get me to play the 360 version of FN3 with him for months. Something about the first person mode and the additionally tweaked graphics are just too hot to pass up.
The first person mode alone makes me excited like a schoolgirl. :D

That statement is a bit confused colin.
You are saying the wii-mote would be silly for using in a boxing game because the PS3s sticks are more intuitive.
Are you really trying to imply that two little joysticks are more intuitive than throwing fully articulated jabs and hooks from any direction using your own hands? You must have a low opinion of the human body and it's abilities. What is a more intuitive way to throw a punch than to actually throw a punch? It's laughable at best to say that using joysticks a better system.
I'm getting a PS3, i want one as much as the next guy, but I'm getting a wii too. I don't have the need you do to be biased and close my mind to what amounts to quantum leaps in gaming controls just to feel better about myself. I'm a gamer and I'll take great innovation wherever I can get it.
Some things the PS3 can do better. But the wiimote/nunchaku was born to box, no question about it. Somehow I think if the PS3 had wiimote type controls available you'd be all hyped up about how amazing that would be. Heck I would.
As for getting tired. Countless reviewers that have used the wiimote have already stated that is a falsehood. I'm guessing you'd have to be Jabba the Hut style fat to get tired. And if that's the case, you probably need the minimal amount of exercise you'll get out of it. You ain't gonna loose those pounds swinging thumbsticks boy.

Well coco, I think you misunderstood Colin. He was saying that the PS3/X360 controller schemes would be more than adequate and most likely more appropriate that the Wiimote in this instance. I know that I'm not gonna literally throw a couple hundred punches in a gaming session and enjoy it, maybe if I was in training to be a real boxer then yeah. The Wiimote would work well technically, but in practice (I think this will be true with many of the Wii games) the constant waving will get tiring.
