A SIXAXIS alternative [update 1]

If you're not impressed with the new SIXAXIS controller, Nyko is unleashing a new line of controllers that promise to offer something a bit different. Among the more standard features of the so-called "Zero Pads" are wireless connectivity, rechargeable batteries and an included charging cable.

According to GameSpot, the new pads also offer some more exotic features: "The controllers will also feature heat-dissipating aluminum panels (perhaps for those who fondly remember the company's AirFlo line of controllers with built-in fans), backlit face buttons, and three different color schemes."

Personally, I'm praying for a rumble function in the upcoming PS3 version! The PS3 Zero Pad will be hitting stores sometime early next year and will most likely retail for $49.99. Keep in mind the beauty pictured here is for the PS2, not the PS3.
