Even more PS3 Q&A for you to chew, digest
It's that time again, boys and girls. With T-Minus 5 days for Japan and 11 days for North America, IGN is desperately trying to answer all your nagging questions by using, abusing and overall fiddling with their PS3 test unit. What do we learn this time? How hot does it run?
- It gets pretty hot (recall that the "power brick" is inside the system), spewing warm air. The back of the system gets particularly warm while the sides aren't too bad. It's still very quiet, though!
- Yes, the retail unit has one, but not the test units.
- The PS3's "custom resolution" option allows you to tell the system what your TV's max resolution is, but jury is still out on older games getting upscaled.
- All face buttons are analog -- not sure about D-pad, though.
There are a couple more questions asked, but IGN isn't 100% on the answers, so we'll omit those to spare you from false information or hype you up for something that simply isn't true. Hope this was some help for at least one person!

Oh! And while I have your attention... a lot of you have asked about the new banner design. Well, it's currently in the hands of our website design team -- they're checking it out, fiddling with it, tweaking, etc etc. Give it a little time and the new banner will appear. And no worries: I fully plan to have a new banner contest every so often. Quarterly or semi-annually sound good? Let me know, thanks!

I think annually or semi-annually is good. Not too often

Off topic: Yeah, you guys have kinda needed a new banner, considering you still have the Boomerang up there...
On topic: Finally: Some corporation acknowledges the evils of the Power Brick!

Ahhh... But the flipside of an integrated power supply... If your power supply fries itself, do you really want it in the console's chassis?

...why wouldn't the buttons be analog... the ps2 was and you couldn't realy be backwards compatable if it wasn't.
