Who needs a Wii when you can play Nintendo games on your PS3?
Who needs Wii and its Virtual Console library when we can take our PS3 online via its kickass browser and check out any number of free flash games totally free?! Only problem: no Java support.

Why pay $600 for a tuned down PC that is nothing special when you can pay $250 for a wii and play games like never before? (And play nintendo games... )
You're joking, right? @ Nov 12th 2006 4:36PM
Don't ever boast about the ability to play NINTENDO games on the PS3 ... please. The PSP totes such an ability, and we all know how that handheld battle is playing out. Let's just forget you ever posted this, mmmkay?
Chris @ Nov 12th 2006 4:42PM
You can't seriously compare Ninendo's VC with playing Flash-enabled versions (in other words crappy) online through a web browser. The quality of gameplay isn't even close.
Shiro @ Nov 12th 2006 4:52PM
But how do we play Twilight Princess?
Kia @ Nov 12th 2006 5:39PM
My god, you guys are really stretching, aren't you? XD Never mind the flash games on PS3 have trouble running half the time, but of -course- we all know "Elf Bowling 2142" is much better than firing up a round of Star Fox 64 or Super Mario RPG! Spare me, PS3 Fanboy. XD

because the wii is clearly inferior. and trust me like never before, talk to my friend's power glove, or his pos sidewinder. and that tuned down pc that is nothing special has a 60 gig hardrive, incredible graphics, a ton of support from publishers, and so many things that it would take an hour for me to type em all here.
Mankosuki @ Nov 12th 2006 6:32PM
lol, I would have expected seeing this on wiifanboy rather than here.
rv65 @ Nov 12th 2006 7:20PM
Well there are homebrew emulators.
Pulse @ Nov 12th 2006 7:27PM
Meh, why play a Nintendo game on PS3 anyways? At least if it was working it would be more fun :)
sorry fries @ Nov 12th 2006 7:29PM
Sorry fries, but the Power Glove was a 3rd party POS for a systems 3 generations ago. You lose, idiot. Oh, and this PC that I'm typing on won't allow me to play much of what is coming out on the Wii, but I sure as hell won't have a problem ALREADY finding some of the stuff that has yet to be released for the PS3 on my PC right now in a store. Dumbass.

yeh i know its 3 generations ago, thats why u cant tell me the wii plays games like never before like the first guy did, so thanks for reinforcing that. but thanks for calling me an idiot and a dumbass, my wife didnt get around to doin that today, so thanks. resistance/mgs4 ftw.

As a professional Game/C++/Java/C#/Flash developer, can I just say that this was a horrible experiment?
Flash is not a good platform to create games with. Period. It has too much overhead and doesn't allow for many of the "tricks" used in C++ and other high-end languages to make performance based applications (like games) shine. Flash is nice if you have a POC (proof of concept) or you need to pitch an idea. It's good for quick and dirty. When you get into complicated stuff, you can forget about it. This is mainly the reason you only see ports of really old video games and some very simple "cereal-box" games.
As far as the problem they had with the guy getting stuck, I totally blame that on Actionscript and/or a bad programmer oversight.
I'm totally psyched about the PS3 though. I Still can't wait to get my hands on it (and hopefully some dev time as well.)
chillski @ Nov 13th 2006 12:16AM
wow i cant believe people bitch and whine about the "extra" features on a ps3.
i for one love old school nintendo games, and im very glad that i'll be able to play them on my ps3. are people really having such a hard time finding things to bitch about the ps3 that they pick on it for having cool extra features????
Gameslave @ Nov 13th 2006 12:28AM
See, I could get all defensive, but considering how COMPLETELY BROKEN the flash game was in the video, this is quite obviously a joke. A funny one, too.
Spector @ Nov 13th 2006 2:04AM
I'm just going to have my Genesis, NES, N64 and SNES emulators and roms running off of Linux on my PS3... and guess what it's not going cost me a dime.
deburner @ Nov 13th 2006 6:33AM
That's nice to know but like Spector said it runs linux so why the hell does this matter
why hasn't anyone done like a review of linux on the ps3 yet?
velocitystrike @ Nov 13th 2006 6:38AM
Hey! Spector! That's not illegal either! ¬_¬
Mr Tourette @ Nov 13th 2006 11:12AM
fries, could you let me know if you are either
a) 15
b) a spacker
c) inbred
d) or just willing to believe everything Sony lies to you about.
There's no shame in the 1st three, but I worry about the fourth.
PolishCowboy @ Nov 13th 2006 5:51PM
why would you even waiste your money on a stupid Wii. the only thing that it will be good for is Zelda and after that you can throw it in the garbage.(unless you wanna play a bunch of stupid games for little children).
but thats your choice.
MGS4 will kill anything that dumb Wii Wii will ever come out with!
drsashamd @ Nov 14th 2006 5:57PM
"MGS4 will kill anything that dumb Wii Wii will ever come out with!"
yay! Lets play a game where we are forced to believe a 60+ year old man is able to elude and take on huge robots in the real world.
Question, whats the point of getting a PS3 when MGS4 may be going to Xbox360?
What does the PS3 offer that the Xbox360 or Wii doesn't?
An untested online system that is just Sony's rip of Xboxlive?
A "Motion sensing" controller that doesn't have anywhere near the capabilities of the Wiimote and looks even more like a cop-out by Sony after they saw how stupid they are for the horrible design they had for the boomerange controller?
Oh wait! It can play Blu-ray! An unproven technology thats going to be the next big hit just like the UMD was for the PSP right? right?
Aaron @ Nov 15th 2006 10:22PM
Typical for novice gamers to believe anything the big companies say. Nintendo will come through, it revolutionized the video game market 25 years ago and it's going to do it again.
Three things:
1. Crazy overloaded graphics doesn't mean a good game.
2. IS this what the video game market has come to? Ripping off other companies stuff?! Come on Sony, come up with something innovative.
3. You can sit on your ass staring at the T.V, playing on a a controller. Or you can weild a sword and kick monster tail in your living room (Wii).
Nothign can emulate Nintendo's innovation. And besides, how can anyone say 'buy the PS3, it plays nintendo games!' ?! Of course it can, games that are well past their prime.
That's all.
By the way, don't make games using Flash, C++ is the way to go.
Sonic @ Nov 16th 2006 7:53PM
Donkey Kong was originally on Atari.
tom @ Nov 17th 2006 8:21PM
this isn't what i was thinking of. my brothers friend knows how to put nintendo games on his xbox not just play them online. you have to have a hard drive and my ps2 doesn't. i waited for the ps3 because it does but i need codes that will work on ps3.
Gamemansnow @ Nov 24th 2006 5:58PM
OMFG PLZ SPARE ME! You can never compare a shitty flash version of donkey kong to the real game on the wii. Besides, even if u dont want to pay 5 bucks, you can always download the rom of your computer, put it on ur sd card, and play it via the wii's emulator. So plz, spare me stupid PS3 fanboys.XD
Sean @ Dec 4th 2006 4:12PM
...eh? I think the point of the thing is that PS3 can do it... and the others can't, playing Donkey Kong on it was just a failed attempt at humor...
