First party PS3 titles remain cheap -- the price, not their quality

*yawn* Wow, another weekend bites the dust. Luckily, PS3Fanboy is spreading its wings! Welcome back, David Hinkle! We're going to try to increase our update count here what with the PS3 out in Japan now and soon to come to a lucky five homes by next friday. Will any of us be able to procure one of our own? You'll have to wait until friday. Anyway, time for this blogger to catch up on news that he didn't get around to this weekend.

As far as game prices go for the PS3, it's always been kind of up in the air. Sometimes, prices are lower, other times they change to a higher point. Now, since the system is out fo' realz and stuff, we are to understand that the first party titles will always be in the "4,800 to 6,800 yen range". That's not bad -- Genji and Resistance launched at 5,980 yen. So, don't expect any major price spikes yet, at least from first party titles. Sooner or later, though, we're bound to hit a $70 retail. A high profile game, most likely. Weren't games for the SNES about $70? I recall paying quite a bit for Secret of Mana. I guess time really does flow like a river, and history repeats. Not to compliment myself, but damn, that was a smooth connection, even incorporating a quote. Awesome.
