Quiet those kids with a in-car video server

Robert Cringely from PBS has built a video server in his minivan to have his kids stop bothering him. For only $190, he built a custom computer that would encode video in H.264 (AVC) codec and stream it to a PSP he had installed in the back of the vehicle. Why the PSP? Because it "plays movies beautifully."
While Bob doesn't go into details on how one would be able to fashion a video server for themselves, he does give a very interesting tidbit: "Though not advertised as such, the PSP is EXTREMELY water-resistant."
Of course, I haven't verified that claim. Nor will I try to.

I wondered why mine enever ever seemed to break when it got wet...totally backing that guy up...VERY water-resistant...*ahem* Did not drop it in the sink...

well if hes not using locationfree, then he has a home network streaming his content through fss feed.
what eles can he be using? thats if he keeps his firmware up to date. if he has an other firmware like 2.71 or below, i don't know as i keep mys updated.

Gives us an idea what to expect as far as new features? So far, doesn't look like too much has been added except for a visualization for music playback (probably similar to the WMP one) and a certificate for "Some PLAYSTATION®Network titles".
Any more info about this update would be appreciated ^_^
