Get your official Sony PS3 cables if you love consistency

There weren't any PS3 cables at launch. Maybe Sony knew that most people buying the system weren't going to touch it, rather, turn around and saturate eBay with the things. A week later, Sony has finally released the official PS3 cables to get your high-def on. And by finally released, we mean 11/22 in Japan. And by cables, we mean the D-terminal cable. Pardon the cable ignorance, but would someone like to explain what that is in case anyone else is scratching their head? I'm about the games, not this stuff. However, I do know what the 12/7 release cables are: the composite AV cable, the S-video cable... and the component AV cable.

Don't forget that the PS2-brand cables work fine, but like we said, if you want to be super-official and very consistent in your products/peripherals, grab these up. The composite goes for 1,500 yen and the other vary around 3,000 yen. Keep your eyes out for these -- maybe they will work better than generics, maybe not. Sony products do have a strange, almost incestual, love for one another. I know incestual isn't a real word, but you get the idea behind it. I hereby coin the word "incestual". End transmission.
