PSone downloads begin on 11/22... in Japan

In just a few hours, Japanese PS3 and PSP owners will be able to download and play PSone games on their PSPs. The following titles will be available for only 525 yen (less than $5) each:- Resident Evil Director's Cut (Capcom)
- Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol.1 (Konami)
- Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol.2 (Konami)
- Bishi Bashi Special (Konami)
- Arc the Lad (SCEJ)
- Jumping Flash! (SCEJ)
- Hot Shots Golf 2 (SCEJ)
- Silent Bomber (Bandai Namco Games)
- Tekken 2 (Bandai Namco Games)

So will non-JP models not be able to access the downloads, or are the games region encoded? I happen to have a Japanese PS3 *and* PSP, so that might actually work in my favor this time.

Will the games that we download include the cinematics? Ill download FFVII if it has the cinematics, if it doesnt, fuck that!

Maybe for the US, the PS3 wont be required for downloads. one can hope.

Um i was just wondering since the games are going to be downloaded to the MS ( i think ) wont we be able to download them from like torrents and then put them in MS and launch them and wouldnt that make it easier for the the homebrew hackers?

I think that is why you need the ps3 to play psone games on the psp, the ps3 unlocks the game for your specific psp. After a while, someone will find something to unlock it for all psp's, etither trough some special hacking program or a hex edit. Similar to how 2.81 games were modified to run on 2.8, or when someone cracks the 3.0 firmware...
either way it is gonna take time. I think it should be quite fast, because the ps3 can run linux, knowing sony and their firmware, there should be some holes in it.

Hmm i see but wont we be able to get them after their unlocked for example i dowload play it send it to someone and then the move. and yes im really looking forward to any homebrew/hacks for 3.00 but like you said we can only wait

i think it will be unlocked some how.
imagine all the psp1 games on a torrent. i would run out and buy a few 8gb cards. might cost $1,000 but ill do it:)
Im looking into the GP2X for all other emulation.
Sony say you'll be able to download ps1 games using the psp only next month.
