Did you score a PS3 on Black Friday?

There have been scattered reports of PS3 purchases this week. It seems that many Best Buys received new stock on Wednesday and promptly sold out. There were many rumors of PS3 hoarding by the likes of GameStop, Target and even Wal-Mart. In the end, was all of this false hope? Or did a lucky few prevail and walk home with a Black Friday PS3? If you got one, we want to know! Tell us where and how you scored your PS3 today. If you didn't get one, well, then you can vent.

Are gamestops really geting ps3's? I had mine pre ordered but was #8 on the list and they only got 6. But when I call and ask did they get a 2nd shipment the guy told me NO!!!. If anyone has heard of gamestop getting more or if they got their pre-order filled from the 2nd shipment please reply. My gamestop might be doing some funny business and I need to know if i should call their home office. Thank you.

yea i went to gamestop and they didn't get any ps3s im so pissed again THERE WERE ABSOLUTLY NO PS3s.

the gamestop local to me filled all of their preorders (except for the premium model) and had exctra on wednesday. buddy of mine walked in and bought a base model (didnt need wireless or the media reader)

I got mine on launch but a friend just bought one from a Best Buy in Surrey. It seems they also have the Wii.

I was at my Gamespot @ 4:30am. 1st in line and they had 7 wii's and 2 PS3/20gb. I got a 20gb but its on ebay

I lose. I got to best buy at 5:30 they had a huge stack of wiis in the middle of the floor, but the guy watching over the chaos said they got something like 26 PS3's on wednesday, and sold out. I cried. The dude said to call back daily because they were probably getting more in soon. So then I went to the gamestop, across the mall, and waited there for 40 minutes until they opened at 7:00. I was 10th in line, and only one other guy wanted a ps3. Turns out they didn't even get any, so I went on a multi-hour adventure, to a FYE, a Circuit City, some strange local game shop, a target, a walmart, and the gamestop across the street from the first one. Turns out they actually had some, but sold out before I got there, if only I had started there. I am currently locked in my closet, with a laptop crying, and don't plan on ever coming out.

I scored mine on Wednesday from Best Buy. Just a strange thing, I went in to pick up something else, and as I was walking out I heard the associates talking about PS3's. I asked if they had any, they said they had 3 left and asked if I wanted one. Grabbed it and was out the door! Awesome machine.

Yeah I definitely got up at 4am and headed on over to my local Best Buy. It was madness. I thought the PS3 launch was crazy this was 5x more insane (in regards to the amount of people) but for PS3 launch there were cops and tasers. I couldn't find a parking spot and everyone was parking pretty much anywhere so I parked in the white lines between two handicapped parking spots. Anyways I went in hoping to come across a PS3 and/or a Wii (buying the Wii for a friend) but was also there to get a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for the PSP I hope to get for Christmas. Get there and no PS3 or Wiis. Bummer. Got the MS Pro Duo. Grabbed the wrong one and it was $95! I had grabbed the wrong one (same brand and everything just a different sku). I was pissed I go back and I find the right one, cut the line and pay for my card and I grabbed a DS for $100 for my younger bro. Go outside and I got a friggin parking ticket for $115! WTF!?!?! I plan on contesting it because this is rediculous. It's Black Friday what do they expect there were no spots. I have never recieved any sort of parking ticket or speeding ticket so I hope they can get rid of it or knock it down. Anyways after leaving BB I headed over to Gamestop and there was a line of about 15 people, most of them hoping to score a Wii. There was only one guy in the store so I call the store and the guy at first told me he had no Wiis or PS3. I call back cause it was like 30 minutes till the store opened and it was freezing. I called back and was like "Listen dude there are lots of people out here in the freezing cold and they are waiting for a Wii or a PS3 and I would appreciate it if you told us if you had any so that we don't waste our time freezing out here for nothing." He said he had some Wiis but no PS3 (F*#%) but he wouldn't tell me how many Wii's just that there weren't alot of them. So I waited in line, they only had 5 Wiis and no ones credit card got declined so no Wii or PS3. I went home with a DS, Memory Stick Pro Duo and a $115 parking ticket. Thanks Sony and Nintendo.

There Was 2 GameStops By My House Selling PS3's, I Called Them This Morning At 6:00AM And One Said That They Got 6 In And The Other Got 2 In. The One With 2 Said They Were Both 60 Gig And The Other One Only Got All 20 Gig. The One With 20 Gig Still Has One In Stock But I Am NOT Accepting A 20 Gig I Saved 2 Years To Get A 60 Gig.

I personally did not go PS3 hunting this morning (not enough cash... yet) but I didn't see any at the Best Buy I went to, they could have been sold on Wednesday like everyone else is saying. But I did drive past an EBgames near the Best Buy. And outside there was a small line of maybe 20 people lined up, some had chairs and had obviously been there awhile.

who the hell cares people. There is like one good game out for this thing right now (R:FOM). Just relax and wait instead of getting cought up in the hype. Unless your flipping this thing for a profit there is really no reason to be fighting off hoards of people to play the likes of Genji and Gundam. Just my opinion though.

funny story, I camped out for wii and was denied, they only had 3 units...:(, then they offered the whole line 20gb ps3's, and nobody wanted to pay for a ps3, and they still havent sold. Silly ps3

Yeah I got mine today. It is a bitch to set up, and i still haven't played Resistance, but the one thing that surprised me was how big it was. This thing is a tower. It's really quiet and i don't have an HDTV yet, but I am getting one for Christmas. Overall, I'm not sure if it is worth 600 bucks.

I walked into Best Buy in Beaverton, Oregon around 10:30 am on Black Friday after about a half hour of shopping and I oeverheard one of the employees say they just got more PS3's so I ran over to the video game section and they brought out around 20 of them. I went home with a 60gig.

I got to Target at 3am today, they had 6 units, 2 60g and 4 20g, I was the second in line and got a 60GIG!!! I only had to wait in line for 3 hours!!

I went to keep my cousin company while he waited in line at a GameStop in Sacramento. They had a sign up front that said they had 5 wii's and 2 20GB PS3's so my cousin got his wii and I got 2 20GB PS3's (I called a friend to get in line behind me) We waited in 32 degree weather from 9p.m. till 7 a.m. We went home and played both systems and I've got to be honest I was gonna sell one on ebay, now I'm selling both to finance getting a Wii. Just my opinion but it is easily the greatest gaming system, but I'm the kinda guy that is really excited by being physically tired after three hours of solid gaming. Just my opinion.

Man, what a bummer..
I read an article on cnn.com saying that retailers had received new shipments of PS3's throughout the week and were holding them until black friday. Then i read the same thing on here and decide to wake up at 4:30am. I woke up early and none of the stores that i went to even had received any shipments. I went to Circuit City, WALMART, Best Buy, Target, Sears, Toys R US, Babbages, and EB.. NONE OF THEM EVEN RECEIVED NEW SHIPMENTS!! I gave up and went to work. Then my friends girlfriend calls me saying that the EB guy offered her a 20g ps3.. THE SAME EB i went to where the guy said they were out!! FUCKER! if i had boobs, it wouldve been mine!!!

Gamestop 5:30am 7th in line waiting for a Wii. Everybody was really cool and a fun time was had. 7am Gamestop guy shows up (also cool), they had 6 Wiis and 2 PS3s. I bought a PS3 20GB. I'm selling it to get a Wii later. Did I blow it? Will I make enough off the 20GB PS3 to buy a Wii?

i went to a gamestop @ 7am after coming from a best buy it had 6 people in-line 3 people wanted a wii one wanted a used memory stick and me an another guy and me got the ps3 i got the 20 gig and was overly excited because they only had 2 in the store.

Got to a Gamestop about 6:30ish - I was the 11th person in line but figured I would wait 30 minutes to see what happened.

Manager came and stated he didn't open till 8am but understood the ad stated 7am. He also stated he had 6 Wiis and 1 PS3.

"Who wants the Wii" he asked.. First six raised their hands

"Who wants the PS3??" No one raised their hand, so I said, "I'll take it!!!" Got moved to 7th in line!!

I could not believe it. Got a PS3 and had to wait about 45 minutes...

The funny thing the guy said was "Should I call the shopping center security to go to the car with you??"

Man, is it really worth that....

"I told him no, as I can take care of myself"

Hence, I was lucky. He did say that this was a preorder that the person never came back to get the PS3

I saved up for a year to get my PS3, and guess what, it's on Ebay.

Know why? It's a buggy glitchy piece of crap. I'm never buying another Sony product because the last 2 I bought sucked (PS3 and PSP).

I just thought you should know. You might want to put that massive amount of money to a better use than giving it to Sony. It really isn't worth the ammount they are charging us for it.

I walked in Best Buy Wednesday and saw this guy delivering a new batch of PS3's, like 5 60Gig ones and 10 20 Gig ones.
I immediately grabed the last 60 Gig one and people were almost fighting to get one, I was very lucky indeed.

I camped out 3 different times. Two days before launch on 11/15 and didn't get one. Went everywhere within those two days and spent most of the time at walmart in the freezing Michigan rain at a store that was originally supposed to get 13 and come launch day, they had 6..... Then, I went to Toys R Us who had left over PS3's that would go on sale if the people didn't pick up their pre-orders in 2 days (the Wii's launch date). So I went out 2 hours before the store opened and got in at #13. Unfortunately, Toys R Us didn't pass out vouchers, they let people in like 3 at a time (FU** SH** FU**). Needless to say, by the time it got to me, the PS3's were gone, I was so mad I didn't even get the wii when i got in there. But my brother was camped at the Best Buy and gotten a voucher so I bought the Wii (and a bunch of extra craP). Then, just like everyone else, I saw that they would be getting new shipments in come Black Friday. I already camp out for that, so this would be perfect... WRONG!! I got there, camped out (was #50) becuz I was still getting other items from 6pm to 5am. I even had people in the front of the line to scope out a voucher for the PS3 just in case they passed em out. They opened, asked the manager if they had any, he said, we got them in 2 days ago. I had been in there two days ago and they told me differently.
I don't think anyone has possibly pound for pound had a worst PS3 experience than I have, not to mention the fact that I had trouble holding 600 in the bank becuz of the little sh** that comes up here and there. Sony, figure out something quick or else u will lose a loyal fan ESPECIALLY IF METAL GEAR DECIDES TO NOT BE EXCLUSIVE TO YOU!!!!

isn't it kinda funny how many early adopters are shunning the 20gig. sounds to me sony hit the wrong ratio button on that one. at launc hthere should have been about 1x 20gig for every 20x 60 gigs. oh whatever,...

Hey weird...how I miss this post...

I got One. In fact I was the first one in line. I saw the post you guys left on rumors of ps3's commin on black friday. I went to the sony store on madison and waited Alone from 3pm thursday to 9 am friday...yes, I was the very first one. I wasnt even sure if they were goin to be getting any ps3's in...but I miss my first chance(thats another story)so i wasnt going to miss this one.At around 9pm thurday (thanksgiving night) a russian guy showed up..he was Number two, like the guy from Austin Powers,j/k..anyway...it was 6 people by 12am on friday and it was raining. I tryed to put my mind somewhere alse (mostl likely dreaming about having the ps3 in my arms)_seriously) About 4 in the morning there was 17 people waiting in line. I still wasnt sure if it was a rumor or if it was true, Just keapt my hopes up. At 7Am when the stores open..a guy came ou and said that they had to wait for the mannager to know how they were going to do it. I thought it was...how they were going to tell the bad news to all the people that had gathered over the night especially me.Ohh yeah, we also had a cop with us waiting his name was peter..so we had a guy willing to shoot the windows out incase drastic messures had to be used to get our grimey little hands on a ps3.SSssoooo 9 in the morn is here and they let us know that they had about 15 ps3's...guess how many people had accumulated? Ill tell you 150+...not even lying. I walked up drunk tired...the first one to enter the store...felt like a celeb..kinda. The guy asked me what would i like to purchase..and I calmly said......Playstaion 3...the 60 gig.....thank you. he said that will be $651.00...I dont think ived ever given that much money so Happily.

But it was scary, when I left the store i walked around to my work building on park and i went back to the line. People in front of the line were excited for me..but when i was getting to the end people were kinda getting violent and demanding 700-900-100-1200$ for the system im all like no no...but that was half of it..i live in brooklyn.I had to look crazy and put the ps3 in a big trash bag...one looked at me funny i looked at him like i wanted to rob him and he left me alone...but Now i have it and I loooved it..I like be one of the few ones to have it.

Again thank you Ps3 Fanboy, if it wasnt for you i woulnt have it right now....Oh and I have Gengi and Ressistance....one Im out
