Get stuck in Genji? It's not you, it's a massive glitch...
The development team for Genji did a big-hearted thing the other day -- they sent out helpful tips to players in the form of an e-mail. What they failed to give a tip for was avoiding a massive, massive bug in the game that renders your entire playtime useless and forces you to start over. Oh, okay... I'll feed you, baby birds...At around the 2 or 3 hour mark of playtime, you'll have to hit two switch-thingys on top of a building -- you'll need a key to enter said building and make your way to the roof. However, due to a glitch in the game, that key may or may not appear for you to pick up. That means everything you did is useless. Or is it? Apparently you can stand under the switches and perform an upwards-swinging attack to hit them from the ground, but there's still no access to the building itself. Essentially, you're pretty screwed if that key didn't pop up for your acquisition. Keep multiple save files, guys! Anyone run across this problem?

I'm going to return this piece of crap. Especially since I haven't even played 2 hours of it yet.

I think Genji or Gundam may win game of the year.
*fingers crossed*

the ps3 SUCKS! it's the most ugly looking console iv'e ever seen in my life. even the vitual boy can look better than that piece of blue-ray shit of a console. the wii will conquer all who challenge it. the wii is better in price, games, and appeal. fuck the ps3:( :( %(
thewisteron @ Nov 24th 2006 7:35PM

I still can't believe that Sony haven't set a foot straight on this generation of consoles... I always knew from the beginning that the Playstation 3 would not have the same success as the Playstation 2... but I always had my hopes that it could have its triumph... we just need to leave the time pass and see how the things happen... I think Sony is making their own hole... like Blu-Ray (although It could have some success, but with all the companies going on the HD-DVD side... everytime its least probable)... What I least like is how Sony is treating the developers... and how they have created the neccessity to have a Playstation 3 selling the machine as the most powerful but not the best one to play on... but time is the key... and Sony must start NOW!... Nintendo has some similar faults... but the difference is that Nintendo has a foot on front... not only with this shipments but with the games... bringing gameplay and not graphics to the table... Sony needs to bring something worthfull on the table... and definetely this launch games are not... it all comes down to the power of the games... because everything else was brought by the Xbox 360 a year earlier... please excuse my English... its not my first language... and although It can cost me to write on english I try to express myself...

Everything about the ps3 was pushed out the door before it was ready. It's freaking embarrassing.

"5. see its retards like joshua that just makes my day...

And it's retarded retorts like this which make my half an hour. It's somewhat pathetic that such a common idiot post was able to make your day brighter. Be sure to visit IMDb, NSider, and GameSpot. A person like you will be grinning like a fool for life.

... I'm not certain but I believe that Blu-ray's side just got much much much stronger - especialy with Samsung and LG with 100% support.
and how they have created the neccessity to have a Playstation 3 selling the machine as the most powerful but not the best one to play on...
... They wanted it future-proof and thats what they got! IGN rated it 9/10 for future-proof. And I agree in that sense. I want something that'll look good on a 49" Plasma. I want MGS gameplay to look like freakin trailers. I want a POWERFUL machine.
(though 360ers can argue about power here)
Sony needs to bring something worthfull on the table... and definetely this launch games are not... it all comes down to the power of the games...
... Sure the launch wasn't successful. But read the post from EA after this. They want continued success. Read IGN's launch review about future games. They're all delayed. They want to make those games right, without rushing them - and I applaud them for doing that.
What happened to commenting on Genji rather than ps3 vs. wii -_-
Pabjvar @ Nov 25th 2006 9:03AM
@Dahk
Looking tru everything you said... You have some good points... and somehow I agree with you... but yet I'm still skeptic of the Blu-Ray... I think that everything was rushed out... and I could agree with joey when he says that it was embarassing... I hope the developers make good games... but more than time Sony needs to gain the exclusivity again... bring all those games that made the Playstation great...
kissmyazz @ Nov 25th 2006 11:25AM
Fug Gamespot...All the reviewers for that stupid site are all talentless pigs. Especially that one fat lard ass...That site and all its losers who work on it can go jerk eachother off while playing some massive on-line fantasy game.

So, tell me again, how this is the problem with the PS3 harware?
It's the freaking programmer's fault. This has nothing to do with the harware of the PS3. Damn retards, all of you.
Josh @ Nov 25th 2006 7:27PM
Genji 2 is massively damaged.
Sorry, it had to be said. The joke, along with "Riiiidge Raaaaacer!", the real-time weapon change, and the giant enemy crab jokes, just won't die. They've already been elevated to All Your Base status in my mind.
Big Daddy Jay @ Nov 26th 2006 4:07AM
A glitch!
On a PS3 game!
You don't say!
I played this game at a buddies house. This isn't the only glitch, the whole games is fugly. More of a reason for me not to buy this system.
But wait, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
At least they got one thing right.
Real time weapon change.
It's all the rave with the kids.

"Everything about the ps3 was pushed out the door before it was ready. It's freaking embarrassing."
A bit like wiiconnect24 then, atleast ps3 HAD some games to play online at launch. Oh and those updates that were bricking people's systems, atleast ps3 had an excuse for things feeling rushed, with blu-ray being new technology and all. Nintendo couldn't even get it right with 8 year old hardware, actually worse than that, because it can't even play DVDs.
Sisco @ Nov 26th 2006 3:45PM
why am I Looking at the commets?
I tell myself not to, yet Today i figured someone was going to say something smart for a change. I think that Most the comments are from non ps3"Fan"boys.So i ask my self, if they are not fanboys why are they looking at ps3fanboy stuff. I know why..cause deep down the want to be excepted by the BEST GOD D*MN SYSTEM in all aspects and their mad that what ever system their using is missing one if not all the features psp has to offer. One more thing...STOP TALKING LIKE YOU KNOW! Get facts, you all sound like dumb*sses makin sh*t up all the time. why does it matter to you why another system sucks.
Jeez....
PS: PS3 fanboy/PSP fanboy...you guys do a wounderful Job..Thank you.

geez people, i think we've seen enough console bashing already, keep you comments relevant to the blog post :)
regrezz @ Nov 30th 2006 4:15PM
I guess it is better late than never, by a few days at least, to post the obvious. The PS3 has a hard drive…. Meaning even though there may be a bug in the software, the developer could easily create a fix and have you download to the hard drive as a fix. If I remember correctly the Xbox360 has done this on multiple games.
Yes there may be a problem, but with the new round consoles with hard drives most software glitches can be worked around. Sony had the foresight, hopefully now the developers will take advantage of it.
Aeron @ Nov 30th 2006 6:39PM
"A bit like wiiconnect24 then, atleast ps3 HAD some games to play online at launch. Oh and those updates that were bricking people's systems."
Dude that was 0.04% of all Wii consoles, Have you played on PSN? you will see how rushed it is. Nintendo didn't have it at launch because Nintendo wanted to make it good unlike PSN.
'Nintendo couldn't even get it right with 8 year old hardware, actually worse than that, because it can't even play DVDs"
Nintendo didn't want it to play DVDs. You've already got one.
Its true Blue-Ray has bigger support but considering HD DVD players cost around $599 and BD players round $1099. Plus Universal Studios is offering HD DVD exclusive support, and LG and Samsung have already released HD DVD players.
Plus Toshiba holds more market share than SONY, Samsung or LG.
