Ben Furneaux is lucky. He gets to take an all-expenses paid trip to London courtesy of Sony and ThreeSpeech to attend a meet and greet event. He will meet Phil Harrison, and he will greet Phil with some hard-hitting questions submitted by you! Hopefully! Ben also gets to check out unreleased titles in their latest build, such as Lair and Motorstorm. If you want to know anything about those games, let him know on his blog in advance and he'll get back to us. Hopefully! Personally, I just want to know if the games are fun -- I don't care about graphics or SIXAXIS functionality or if Phil Harrison's teeth are straight -- I just want the games to be fun. Anyway, comment on his blog your questions or concerns -- or here. Whatever. It's your comment.

1. When are ppl without PS3's gonna dl ps1 games on their psp or their pc to play on the psp? (3.00/3.01 was a HUGE dissapointment for us who not owns a PS3!)
2. Is there gonna be a wifi adapter for the 20gb version, if not an official, will a pc wifi adapter do?
3. Is the 20gb version gonna be released in Europe?
4. Are Sony still gonna screw us Europeans with shitty PAL releases?, we have NTSC TV's too you now!
5. As games dont have a regioncode, are you gonna release titles worldwide at the same time? (Europeans can speak/read English you now!)
6. When is Plasystation 3 gonna be able to dl something and do other things at the same time?
7. When is the Playstation 3 gonna be able to send messages to ppl in-game? (I've heard that you have to be in the XMB to read/send messages)

Oh boy, I'm going to sound pretty negative by asking these questions (trust me, I want to like my PS3 more, but there are issues standing in the way at the present time), but here's hoping...
#1: Some of us are having serious display issues playing PS2 games on the PS3. When will an update address this issue, and will the same or a future update enable enhancements (such as being scaled up to HD) to the backwards compatible titles?

#2: HDTV owners whose sets don't accept or display a 720p signal (such as my Sony CRT) are left with many games being displayed at 480p. When will an update address this issue and allow us to upscale all PS3 games up to 1080i/p, regardless of the game's native resolution?
#3: Peter Dille claimed in an interview with Engadget, only a week before the US launch, that the PS3 would upscale DVDs up to 1080p. This did not turn out to be true. When will an update address this issue?
#4: To me, the Playstation store feel like a beta test more than a service that has been fully rolled out. There are no options to queue downloads or use other PS3 features (web browsing, playing videos, or hell, even games) while the files download in the background (just like the 360 at its launch), and to the best of my knowledge, there are no resuming partial downloads. You must also re-download the full version of a game if you've already downloaded the demo, instead of being able to unlock it right from the game. When will an update address this issue?
#5: We all understand that a USB mini cable must be plugged in to charge the controller, but why must it need to be plugged in at seemingly odd times, such as after a system update?
Those are at least off the top of my head after a long day of work. As you can see, my question isn't so much IF Sony is working on a fix for some these issues, but WHEN. I'd feel much more secure in my purchase hearing Harrison say "This should be fixed by mid-January" than "We're looking into it."

The scaling issue for the old TVs seems to be addressed now with the newest 1.33 update.
After the update, my XMB's native resolution becomes 1080i (I set it as 720p before). When I load up resistance, the TV would switch the resolution to 720p.

I have a question.Could you tell Phil Harrisson that we all know that they haven't put in rumble because of immersions law suit but sony just has to suck up their pride and get immersion to put its technology in the controllers.

Stephen, the newest update still doesn't fix the scaling issues for TVs that can NOT display 720p. Fall of Man still gets bumped down from 720p to 480p, instead of being upscaled to 1080i.

Perhaps he can explain why Europe have to wait the longest for Sony products and pay the most. You Americans are moaning about $600 PS3's try over $1000 when we get the privilege to buy one! (Thats before any games are even bought)
