Use your SIXAXIS on Windows -- Sony hearts Microsoft after all
I opted to go the route of actually typing hearts rather than <3 because it just looks more... valley girl? Kind of like something that can't possibly be true? Anyway, yeah. It's turning into a PS3Fanboy tip day because I've got lots of studying to do! My inbox is full and this is a great way to bring some new bits of info to you. So, expect at least one more of your submissions to pop up in the next hour or so! It's... kind of like a game? The recommended OS to use is Windows XP and upwards. Use it as a USB device, of course. Need some instructions? List time!
- Download and install the filter driver (libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe). (attached zip)
- Unpack ps3sixaxis_en.exe
- Plug the SIXAXIS into your PC.
- Run ps3sixaxis_en.exe once.
- Push the PS button on the SIXAXIS once if it doesnt see it straight away.
And there you have it. Now you can use your SIXAXIS as you play Phantasy Star Universe on the PC, among other titles. Good to know! Let us know if you try this out and it works. That would be appreciated!
[thanks dcemu!]

And here I thought this article was about bogus stories of controllers taking flight and destroying property. Honestly I don't see it possible for people to break a tv and still be able to use their controller. I swung one of mine the day of the launch a little bit too fast playing wii baseball and the motion sensing broke on it. Didn't even leave my hands. And if these are CRT's apparently breaking it's impossible. I'm a computer tech for the state and we dump CRT's monitors, you name it all the time (illegal to resell or give away state equipment, really gay policy). But it is fun considering we get to break shit. I know for a fact your average CRT can take a 2 story fall on it's screen.
Oh and by the way, honestly why would you wanna use a sixaxis on windows? Just go buy a 5 dollar dual shock clone with wireless and rumble for your pc, or better yet use your mouse and keyboard... it is a pc after all.

Has anyone tried playing it through bluetooth?
Andrew @ Dec 7th 2006 8:28PM
I tried to use my sixaxis with my macbook but it was not discoverable using bluetooth. In addition, when I plugged it into the USB port there was no response. Too bad, I thought it sounded really cool.

Be careful with this I tried it and it didn't work I uninstalled it and some Spyware called "Password finder" popped up so beware

A link to the site would be good, so I can download the software when I get my PS3. In March. Dammit. I suppose there is always Google :)
off topic: I did hear there is a parallel importer selling PS3's in NZ for NZD$2200. I'm not that desperate though...

Works as advertized. I even scanned the files using ad-aware and f-secure antivirus scanner. No spyware, no trojans, nothing. Do check yourself if in doubt.
Too bad there is no motion sensing support, yet.

You need to join that forum to download the file, and they won't send me an activation email. Is there any way you could host the file directly on this site? I can't seem to find it anywhere except for forum sites.
