Just completed the game. I feel flat about game's play. Graphic is ok but nothing new really. I hope GT5 will do better e.g. cockpit view, motion blur...
I feel like playing GT4
No rumble is a big loss.

I am enjoying the game. I guess GT5 will bring a lot more to the table but still this concept demo is still quite good.

Listen you can't really complain....it's FREE man!!! With that said the game is VERY empty and feels like a demo than a real game!! Yes 10 cars are nice but 1 track W/ an option to race it backwards!! I'm sure that WE will all see the micro-Transactions real soon!! Yeah well I always say "Don't look a gift-horse in the mouth!!" Happy Holidays everyone!!!

Even though it's free, I'm still massively underwhelmed by this demo. First, the download is extremely large - 625 megs, to be exact, most of which was used for the HD intro video. The racing graphics are extremely poor, looking worse than Burnout on PS2. Yes, this demo runs in HD but the lighting on the road looks terrible and there's no lighting at all on the surrounding environment, though that probably doesn't matter much since the surround environment is mostly hills and the same tree copied/pasted hundreds of times. At least the spectators are no longer cardboard cutouts, and the background sky/mountain image is nice, but the overall graphical effect falls far short of the photorealism the series has strived for. I don't see how releasing this demo benefits anybody. Maybe it's to lower our expectations for when the final game actually comes out? Definitely not worth the download.

Personally I love the demo. I am very eager for the full game. More views are really needed though. Hopefully they will be in the full game. Rumble would be nice, but I didn't miss it as much as I expected to. Too bad the L2 and R2 buttons are crap. I much prefer to assign gas and brake to the trigger, but no such luck on the PS3. Looks DAMN nice on my new 24" 1080p gateway monitor.

Can anyone recommend a good PS3 steering wheel? Preferably something with force feedback. Wireless would be cool, but I'll settled for something wired.
benigndarkness @ Dec 24th 2006 10:45AM
did anyone else watch a replay of one of the top ranking people and notice that it's a bit off?
One guy in one of the cars (too lazy to go look), had a best time of 1min 10 seconds...his replay puts him just coming out of the tunnel at 1min 10 seconds...he still has a bit of track left...just curious why it doesn't keep time right...maybe i'll go look at one of my replays and see how the time matches up

That is THE Gran Turismo steering wheel. Force feedback, rumble, 900 degree turning, and its compatible with the PS3 demo and GT3 and GT4. It's a must if you have GT4

The replays are all screwed up for almost all cars and track combos. It's like the replay gets cut off at a time trap instead of a full lap, and it's really really annoying. I was 6th in the Suzuki Cappuccino (Tuned) and then I got bumped down by a bugged replay... unfortunately I'm now down to 10th anyway. Oh well. But it makes it really frustrating when most of the top scores are buggy. Blah!

I don't know why everyone is hating on this. It's A DEMO you idiots. It is free!! Why are you bitching about the size? It's a PS3 game, do you think it would look better with 55mb? It has to be that big. I liked it, I don't know what's wrong with you haters.
Andy Saylor @ Dec 31st 2006 9:12AM
Hope someone can help me. I can't find the GTHD Demo, I've been to the PS Store, I've googled everything I could think to. Have they taken the demo down or am I just a complete idiot?
