Our most wanted PSone games

We have faith that one day, the PlayStation Store will be accessible via PSP without the need for a PS3, and will flourish into a glorious realm of classic games, one that will be untouched by the competition. Of course, homebrew users will rip their own games ... but for the rest of us, this is my personal wishlist of PSone games that I'd like to see available for download.
- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Konami is clearly interested in reviving this game, known as the best in the franchise. Why do we say that? It's coming to Xbox Live Arcade. Spread the love to the PSP, and let non-DS owners experience the engrossing gameplay that makes Castlevania so beloved in gamer's hearts. - Metal Gear Solid
The Graphic Novel was nice and all, but let players experience the gameplay of the original. Although I'd love to see Twin Snakes-styled improvements, a $6 port of this classic would have me giddily screaming "Snake!!!!" for hours on end. - Chrono Cross
It's not Chrono Trigger, but that's good enough for me. This is one of the games that established Square as one of the leading developers of the PlayStation era of games. If this game came at $6, it would be the steal of a lifetime. - Final Fantasy VII
Why not release this fan-beloved classic RPG around the time Crisis Core hits? Sure, the graphics haven't aged very well, but I'm sure there's at least one or two people that haven't played the original. The day this releases is the day all of Sony's computer servers will implode, as millions of Square fangirls squeal as they download 3 CDs worth of data. - Vagrant Story
The PS1 era was one where RPGs from Square that didn't begin with the words Final and Fantasy could still be good. Any game that has you join the Dangerous Criminal Task Force gets a nod in my book. - Resident Evil 2
The DS can have their awful port of the original Resident Evil. Us PSP owners would eat up a digital download version of this classic, considered to be the best traditional (pre-RE4) Resident Evil game. (Resident Evil is coming to the Store, but really, Resident Evil 2 is just that much better.) - Oddworld
For some crazy reason, I have fond memories of this quirky side-scrolling adventure game. The puzzle-oriented action of this ambitious title should be perfect for on-the-go gamers. - Xenogears
Yes, it's yet another Square RPG. This one sparked a bit of controversy due to its overly religious themes... who doesn't want to relive that again? Unfortunately, the lengthy cutscenes may make the portability of this game questionable at best.

Definitely Wipeout 2097. Yes, Pure is a great game, but 2097 is still the defining racing game of its generation, with both a soundtrack and a sensation of speed yet matched by any game.

Oddworld, and MGS are definetly great games for on the go. It'd be great to see the original GTA's as well. Hopefully Rockstar will release those.

7. Street Fighter EX+@
8. Marvel vs Capcom
9. Capcom vs SNK
10. Soukaigi
there are many more I'd like to see, like FFVII, VIII and IX, Elemental Gearbolt, THPS (all 4 of them), both Suikoden and even DBZ Legends :P

I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Very fun game and one of the PSOne's best ever!

Blasto, voiced by Phil Hartman, it was a game that was fun and easy to play. For those of us who really are not hard core gamers ( it takes me forever to get even semi-good at playing a game ) it was one of the games that I could finish.

Awesome list.
I'm waiting until March to see if they improve their PSOne library. If they fail, I'll go rogue and get the emulator going. I sure hope Sony realizes that many people has a similar stance and accelerates the release of the games.
I sense a ridiculous of PSOne ISO's about to flood torrent sites. I'll download them, just in case Sony doesn't get their act together.

Anyone remenber Jackie Chan's game? I'd buy that for 6 bucks... I think it was called Stuntmaster. Not to mention The Wu Tang Clan game... Hm... what else... oh and the original Bloody Roar!! I wouldn't think twice about picking up any one or all of these classics.

Personally i think the perfect PSOne game for the PSP would be MGS Virtual Missions or whatever that VR game was called i forget exactly. It certainly isn't the deepest, but those mini missions would be absolutely perfect for short play sessions i think.

Good list... here are a few more I would want:
Einhander
EXCELLENT shooter from Square. Cool upgrade/powerup mechanic, and the music was amazing. Awesome game.
Klonoa
Beautiful Namco sidescrolling platformer. I am amazed that this didn't already get a mention.
Ghost in the Shell
It was clunky, and the graphics certainly look bad by today's standard... but there was something really enjoyable about driving that tank around and shooting stuff.
Tekken 3
No Tekken has been as smooth and fun before or since Tekken 3. For $6, this would be a steal.

My favorite game of all time would be on the top of my list; Final Fantasy IV. I can't get enough of it, hence why I dedicated a site for it.

Why wait for Sony? Why don't you just mod your PSP with the available firmware downgraders? Assuming you arent running anything above 2.8, Dark_AleX's 3.02 OE-B Custom Firmware will allow you to run ISO's of any PS1 game you own. I'm running Wipeout, 2097, Wipeout3SE + Pure all on the one system on a 2GB Memory stick :) All you need to do is make ISO's of your existing PS1 games that are gathering dust in your bottom drawer and you're good to go!

Ah, I thought no one would talk about Bushido Blade!
But my favourite PS1 game of all times: Soul Blade. A medieval tekken with weapons. Great characters, great control system, graphics a little bit old nowadays, but deffinatelly funny, a lot!
