The PS3 is "out," the Wii is "in"
In: Nintendo Wii - With its innovative motion-sensing controller, the latest console from The House That Mario Built is taking the gaming world by storm and could put Nintendo back on top of the gaming biz in 2007. We challenge you to find one on a store shelf.
Out: Sony PlayStation 3 - Short on positive buzz, the long-dominant PlayStation brand could take a hit in 2007 thanks to the PS3's shockingly high price tag ($599) and stiffer competition from the Wii and Microsoft's Xbox 360.
Not to worry though, as this list has zero credibility. Here's the very next listing in this doozy of an in-and-out list...

Out: Albums
Wow! That's amazing cultural insight. Are we sure that they understand that the current year is 2006... not 1999?
Can you think of a few in/out items that you'd like to add? Here's one to get the ball rolling...

Meaningless list it might be, but there is a bit of truth. Best Buy promised PS3s today and would be doing the ticket thing; and when I went in this afternoon to pick up a DVD I wanted, they still had 6 60GB systems just sitting there with no one buying them while the 360 they only had 1 left and ofcourse no Wii.
I really don't think the price is what is hurting the PS3 so much as the "just wait for the good games in a few months" message they have sent out to people. They haven't given anyone a reason to run out and get one immediately. There are no games that make it stand out when compared to the 360 unfortunately, only the promise of such games. The Wii atleast has Zelda and something new to offer in terms of the Wiimote that makes people want to buy it to try it. Had Metal Gear or even the next Final Fintasy been a launch title, things could have been different

I'm from Springfield, MO and this is my local paper. The paper itself is a joke, people here call it The Fish-wrapper.
The PS3 is going to be a huge success, even if the idiots at The Fish-wrapper who only know how to follow the other sheep don't realize that yet.

what is with everyone completely ignoring that there is a $499 PS3 that does everything the $599 PS3 does, minus SD Memory readers and Wi Fi?
hell, $499 PS3 is more comparable with the premium X Box 360, but it still gets no love.
i don't get it:
Premium X Box 360 ($399):
20 gig HDD
$499 Playstation 3:
20 gig HDD
Premium X Box 360 ($399):
Wireless controller (battery charger must be bought seperately)
$499 Playstation 3:
Wireless controller (and with a USB cable to charge it)
Premium X Box 360 ($399):
No Wi Fi
$499 Playstation 3:
No Wi Fi
Premium X Box 360 ($399):
No HDMI output
$499 Playstation 3:
HDMI output included
Premium X Box 360 ($399):
No HD DVD player
$499 Playstation 3:
Blu Ray drive built in (for those that actually want High Def movies to watch, as well as games. i'm one of them).
Premium X Box 360 ($399):
$50 a year for X Box Live
$499 Playstation 3:
Free online for multiplayer and demos
Premium X Box 360:
Headset and remote included
$499 Playstation 3:
No Headset and remote.
the differences in the units are there, and each offers a value to the buyer (for the 360, you get a free headset and remote, with the PS3, you get a Blu Ray player).
hell, i think i'm going to buy the $499 PS3, simply because there's nothing wrong with it. Microsoft has tainted the image of dual SKU with their gimped "Core" 360 back in November 2005.
as it stands, the PS3 is only $100 more expensive than it's main competitor. and that's if Microsoft fans don't want to buy the HD DVD add on for their 360s. if they do, then tack $199 onto the price of your Premium 360, which puts it at $598, $98 dollars more than the 20gig PS3.
all the bickering over price is ridiculous. yes, there is a $599 PS3, but who says you *HAVE* to own *THAT* one? i don't get it. and besides, by the end of this year, the PS3 will drop it's price, and by at least, $50 (well, depending on how well it sells once it's in regular supply).

Figboy doesn't like to make choices he likes to have them forced on him regardless if he uses it or not.
