You're all probably thinking it: "Oh, that game... wasn't it less-than-spectacular at the Tokyo Game Show?" Our answer: what? Because we never played it, you never played it, hell, no one will ever play it. According to Japanese magazine Famitsu, which is pretty much sacred in the Japanese video game industry, Konami has closed the books on the project. It was scheduled for a second quarter release of this year and it was a pretty neat concept, really. Why the sudden cancellation? We don't know -- it's a rumor. Why would Famitsu supposedly start this rumor? Who knows, but without official word, we're going to say that it isn't yet, but Konami is
heavily considering it.
Why? Don't we normally dismiss rumors here as garbage? Yeah, but you're forgetting Nick Doerr's rule of thumb when considering the validity of such rumors: the source (anonymous? Filtered through a blog desperately trying to increase traffic for no reason?). The source is Famitsu. They're very reliable, believe it or not. They're a named source with a high circulation -- they don't benefit from starting up a false rumor unless there was a strong basis in fact. What do you guys think? Rumor true or false? Ring your bells, now!

Konami... needs to make Z.O.E. on the ps3.... and leave coded arms to the psp.

GOOD!
Did anyone played Coded Arms on the PSP? It was AWFUL... AWWWWWWFUL! I mean, it was almost as bad as Rengoku (or whatever that abomination was called).

Umm, I see no reason why this game is dubbed "less than spectacular". Is it because all of the people that reviewed the E3 demo didn't understand that all of the things they THOUGHT were "glitches" were in fact there for a reason, and were part of the digital cyberpunk art style the game was centered around?
There was a PLAYABLE demo of the game. It's being made by Konami. If that's not enough reason for the game to have no other choice than to continue development then I don't know what is. MGS4 wasn't even playable....

they should make it downloadable and sell it at 25$
i purchashed this game on psp when it came out because i wanted some of the first PSP FPS action and ended up wasting my money. unless they had made SERIOUS revamp of gameplay to make it more fun, than good on konami for proper quality control.

Dammit, I thought this game looked pretty fun. Sure the PSP games suck, but come on. PSP FPS suck. Not an issue with Coded Arms per se.
I'm sure a CA for the ps3 would have way better control, and I thought it had a cool style. Would be a shame if it was truly canceled.
I'm just tired of hearing the PS3 lose titles. I know it's a slow time, and there are probably a ton of PS3 games that we just haven't heard about - but uh... I'd really like to start hearing about them.

The PSP version wasn't too good, but I'm curious for a PS3 version. I like the cyber style everything has, and it would be a lot better on a PS3 controller, with more shoulder buttons and another analog.

I just want Konami to get started on ZOE. But really... when was the last time that Konami actually cancelled a game? There is a market for FPS games on the ps3, I don' think they'd actually cancel this game. FPS games on the psp, can be good... at least that's what they say about Medal of Honor..
