Having trouble playing "The Descent"?
Okay, so this is kind of stretching it as far as news goes, but you know what? I enjoyed this movie and want to pick this Blu-ray up so I can enjoy the non-American ending (which is supposed to be oodles better, so I won't ruin it if anyone's interested)... if it has it. The movie is The Descent, a crazy horror movie that "The Cave" so blatantly ripped off... stupid rip-off American titles. Stupid movie, "The Cave". Wait, what were we talking about? If you've got a regular Blu-ray player (if so, why? The PS3 is so much cheaper... insert smiley face here!), there's a chance that it doesn't have the ability to play the java-enabled options present on the Blu-ray disc, so you get a blank screen. There will be a firmware upgrade for the players, but hey, the PS3 works just fine. HD-DVD people, don't forget you guys had your share of problems. Look at "The Matador", "Wolf Creek" and "Derailed". Anyway, just thought it was interesting that the more expensive Blu-ray players lack what the PS3 has. Enjoy the movie.

Yeah, the American ending totally leaves you confused and unsatisfied. I originally saw the original and good ending on YouTube, but since rented the uncut/unrated version and it also has the better more "complete" ending.

Really? In what way? I saw the uncut original ending and didn't like it. At least the american one offered some resolution. **Minor Spoilers**
I thought the original made it harder to figure out what was real, what was in her head at the end of the movie. Was pretty ambigious in my opinion. And after all the shit that happened to her, I kind of like the quasi-happy ending.
Maybe I have them mixed up though. What made you confused about the american ending?

Havent seen this movie yet, but it looks great. Its next on my Netflix Queue. Anyone know if it was filmed in HD?

It was pretty low budget, so I'm guessing it wasn't shot in HD. Watched the BluRay last night. Looked descent not great.

the desent jesus its like a 1000 times better than the crapp i meen the cave WHY DO AMERICANS AMERICANIZE EVERYTHING AND RUIN IT
and why do americans allways need a happy ending
the original ending has the woman dreams she escapes and gets to her car, but she was nocked out and dreaming she awakes to realize she is still deep underground and sits awaiting her gastly fate, of being eaten by those cave drelling human off breeds things that were like a billion times cooler and more thretening than those shitty cave monsters in the cunt sorry the cave.....
these 2 films kind off give a example of why im a nintendo fan if nintendo made a cave based horror it would be the desent well writen well acted well developed full of greatness and not full of hype the cave would be sonys attempt at the samething nintendo did YES A LITTLE CRAZY BUT I HOPE YOU GET MY POINT
ANOTHER PER OF MOVIES I LIKE TO USE IN MY NINTENDO VS SONY CONPARASONS IS CHARLIE AND THE CHOC FACTORY
IF NINTENDO MADE IT IT WOULD BE WITH OUT DOUT THE 1ST ONE THE ORIGINAL
IF SONY MADE IT OR A SONY 3RD PARTY IT WOULD BE OVERLY SHINY AND PLASTIC JUST LIKE THE SECOND I ACUALLY FIND PEOPLE AGREE WITH ME IN FORUMS WEN I USE CHARLIE AND THE CHOC FACTORY AS A WAY OF TRYING TO SHOW THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN NINTENDO AND SONY
EVEN THO ITS NOT RELATED IN ANYWAY I THINK ITS A VALID WAY OF TRYING TO EXPLAIN WHY NINTENDO IS JUST BETTER

"It was pretty low budget, so I'm guessing it wasn't shot in HD."
It was shot on 35mm film, so yeah, it's in "HD".
