Tired of the SIXAXIS? Why not swap it with a 360 controller?
So, we already know someone hacked into the PS3 and made it so the Wiimote could be used as a sort of pointing device... kind of like how it is on the Wii itself. The Playstation 3 isn't going to stop there, however. Someone else has hacked up their system and got the "almighty" 360 controller working on it. If you've got Linux on your PS3, you can most certainly use the wired version of the 360 controller. Its functionality has been tested with snes9x (an emulation program that kicks bum) and Doom and passes with flying colors. If you want to install the driver onto your PS3, the install file is here. Let us know if you get it running.

I wish my wireless 360 controller could work on my PS3. I don't have the wired controller. But hell, it might be worth picking up. The 360 controller is perfect in every way.
I've been trying to convince myself that I'll get used to the PS3's cheap, flimsy, rumble-less controller but I just can't. It truly sucks :(

I don't know. I do prefer the symetrical design of the Sony controller. I have trouble using the right trigger of the 360 controller.

Why don't you spend 5 minutes on Google and figure it out?

The PS3 controller is excellent. I wouldn't replace it with the heavy 360 controller. Six-axis is very cool, and addictive, you should try it. It is the new wave of gaming. Rumble is out.

wouldn't you be better off with a PS3 controller for SNES? I mean they are practicaly identical SNES and PS.
I use a PS2 to USB adapter for my computer even though I could use a 360 one.
SNES was designed for digital controls, not a analog stick.

Does it work on the PS3 games though??

Why do people think that adding a different controller will make rumble work? NONE of the PS3 games have rumble programmed into the game so why would a different controller make rumble magically work?
I for one don't miss the rumble at all. The very first thing I do with ALL games as soon as I boot them up is go into the options and turn off rumble. With the PS3 I can get right into the gmae without having to fiddle with the options.

I was just wondering, i am not good with computers but i would love to use the 360 controller for the ps3. How would i put linux on there (unless it came with it) and if i attempt this is there any chance i can mess up my ps3 and it stops working. thanks.
oh... i also think rumble and sixaxis belong to gather. no rumber suxs. now a 360 controller w/ rumble and sixaxis that can be used for ps3 would be awesome

Why would you want to do this?
There are far more important things to do in life.
