"Nothing" is most wanted PSP game in Japan
Popular Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu recently sent out a poll, asking gamers to predict what games and systems would dominate in the year 2007. As seen in data provided by Pink Godzilla, the DS and Wii predictably stole the show. While the PSP hasn't earned too much love in Japan, it looks like it won't fare any better in 2007, as people seem completely disinterested in the upcoming library of games. The top 5 most anticipated titles for the PSP in Japan are:5. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
4. Final Fantasy Tactics
3. Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
2. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd
1. Nothing
Yes, nothing beat out the two Final Fantasy games the PSP is receiving. Are Japanese gamers that disinterested in the PSP lineup, or are they simply misinformed? I'd like to bet on the latter: I'm sure with proper advertising, there's no way PSP gamers could resist the charms of Crisis Core.

PSP Rocks, admit it or your LAME @ Jan 9th 2007 12:30AM
I don't get it why in Japan they are so wowed by the fracking DS!!!! I really could care less what they play or say, if they think that the DS is so great then they are clueless.....

It is wrong to say that it is "NOTHING" from us PSP users in Japan. I cant analyze for all the replies, but sometimes NOTHING in Japan also means i am pretty much happy with the titles that are coming up and look forward to seeing a similar flow. Or it may mean I own a DS, so i dont know. And "I dont know" implies NOTHING here so.......

Could also be that all the people not owning a PSP voted in this poll, the majority in japan is DS owners.
I must agree with the first poster, it simply just doesnt make any sense, they go wild for FF3 on DS with its sub par graphics and old out dated gameplay, and they dont wont Crisis Core with its gorgeous graphics, updated gameplay, and connection too FF7. Something is very very wrong in japan.

All I can tell you is that I have both a PSP and a DS and the only thing I ever use my PSP for anymore is to watch movies I put on the memory stick. The games at this time on the DS are much more interesting and engaging. Not to mention Sony's lack of support on the PSP. At first I thought UMDs were pretty cool but look at the price of the UMD movies... They're the same as DVDs in many cases, how do they expect to really sell them? I've become very disenchanted with the PSP.

First of all, people just love the classics, and FFIII had the best DS graphics so far. I personally liked it better than the new FF games that are out for the ps2. Second of all, graphics =/= gameplay, end of story. Lastly, Crisis Core is of course exiting, but spin off games are usually pretty bad. Just look at Dirge of Cerberus. Anyway, if Japan isn't as exited about the psp as other countries, then whatever. It may just be that they are all looking foward to a game that isn't on the list, or they are satisfied with what they have now. Not very likely, but still a possiblity.

You mean the 10 second glimps of gameplay we saw of CC, which was bland and boring at best?
Using your logic, why did people care for the PS2? It had horrible graphics, while Xbox had better.
You sony fanboys crack me up sometimes. Hypocrites.

"FFIII had the best DS graphics so far."
Huh? FFIII looks like ass. It hurts my eyes just to play it, the game looks so awful. There's plenty other competent 3D games on the DS that don't look this bad.

I doubt they're misinformed. Their culture centres heavily around gaming and those who voted in the poll, famitsu readers, can be safely assumed to all be avid gamers.
Don't forget that Japan has a strong affinity to Sony, so you can't dismiss this just as fanboy bias.
I can actually agree with 'Nothing' being up in the top 5. For me, all I'm looking forward to is Ratchet & Clank. Doubt Gran Turismo will ever see the light of day. Besides that, I hope to add Lumines II, Ridge Racer II and DJ Max Portable then I'll be done.

Bad translation. "None of these" or "Nothing particular" would be better.
This option was also top at the PS2 poll and second at the WII and X360 polls...

Why are american game sites so obsessed with Japanese tastes?
Honestly, your developers make way better games. I will take HL, HL2 and Kotor over every single Japanese game ever!
On the PSP I'll take Oblivion and a good Burnout game over pretty much any Capcom, Konami, or KOEI game.

Hey man, disinterested means having nothing to gain, i think the word you are looking for is uninterested.
