Sony goes bling with new Champagne Gold [Update 1]
While us Americans have been stuck with black PSPs since its launch nearly two years ago, Japan has been collecting more and more unique colors. The newly revealed "Champagne Gold" PSP will hit Japan on February 22nd for the standard PSP price of 20,790 yen (~$175US).
This is, coincidentally, when Monster Hunter Portable 2nd comes out, the most wanted PSP game in Japan. As with Tales of the World and Metal Gear Solid, Sony will bundle the new system color with the highly anticipated game into a special package, which will undoubtedly include some other collectibles. The premium package will go for 26,000 yen (~$218).

The Monster Hunter pack will include a case and a cleaner, as well as some skins to put on your gold PSP (but why?). Only 22,222 bundles will be sold, making it a real collector's item. We'll see if this boosts PSP sales across the Pacific. The gold system is available for pre-order at Play-Asia.

Hmmm... I hope both this and the metallic blue PSP come out in europe soon. Black, white and pink is not enough :)

geeez, they release the kewl other colors in a country that totally unappreciates the Mighty PSP..
Sony come on, release them elsewhere also will ya!

I'm actually more mad with the fact that they still won't release a RED PSP!
They could have done a Yellow PSP, which is next best thing, but no they choose Gold.

Wow not to get mad or any thing but at least in Europe you can pick out of three colors other then having to use only the black one. But I do hope this and the other five colors come out that are in Japan to the US some day soon.

You know, having the European choice of colours is not better than just black. White and pink are just not good looking on the system (IMHO, at least), I'd rather not have them try to make it look like some kind of fashion accessoir.

Europe colors:
Black

US colors:

how the hell is that fair? c'mon sony!! you did this same dance with the PS2, it took hella long time for you to roll out colored ones in the US, and when you did, you made them "limited edition", and promptly discontinued them soon after release; and yet in europe and japan you can still get a silver PS2. that's BS!!

I'm still living it up and loving my PS2 eventhough, the graphics of the PS3 is f@#%%^ amazing. But what I am most in love with is the PSP in Champagne Gold. That s@#% is off the chain. I would definitely love to see about getting one. Contact me at my e-mail address, PLEAAASEEE about getting one.

ahh!! dad's getting one for me from japan! woots! i cant wait! i bet it's gonna look ABSOfckinLUTELY awesome! anyway, PS3's one serious ass kicker! the graphics and all, would love to see some other new colours come out soon besides black. lol
