Gran Turismo HD ver. 1.1 details
Sadly, this "updated" version of the neat demo for Gran Turismo HD doesn't come with any special tracks or added options. It fixes a bug. Apparently, a 700MB bug. That's right, no patches, but you've got to re-download the entire thing. Not only that, but doing so erases all your track and drift records. It's... kind of a slap to the face, Polyphony. Why? I was in the top twenty for something... well, probably not anymore, but at some point I was. Oh! We never told you the bug. Here's the big problem: the bug caused the time to stop before you got to the finish line. That's it. Download the new version at your own discretion, everyone!

I figured it was some crap like this. Glad I decided against downloading it. Anyone else feel that someone at sony needs to buy a 360 to learn how to do a download service properly? The only things sony did get right were not severely restricting the size of downloadable games and releasing a bigger hard drive from the start.

Seriously... They've had a year to look at how well the 360 has done their online service and they couldn't even emulate the easiest functionality? Pathetic.
I'm pulling for you Sony but... DAMN! STEP IT UP!

There are reports that if you download the new one without deleting the old one then your times still exist... I unfortunately didnt find out about that in time, so I cant verify.
PS--- What game is that in the pic? The only game I know of that has the full Nuremburgring is Tourist Trophy for PS2??? Is it the old GT (which I didnt get...)?

@ Brad the Engineer -- the picture is from an old E3 concept trailer of Gran Turismo HD -- which at the time I believe was Gran Turismo HD Concept. Hope that's right!

all your points and times are pointless if the races end before the finish line, by erasing them it creates a fair advantage to new down loader's.

I swear it feels like sony is doing EVERYTHING possible to screw this up. Its worse because i have a 360 and a PS3 and things like this make it HARD to feel good about the ps3.
besides that-- this GT HD SUCKS to me.

yes and the messy writing on the road is messages which all of the developers wrote. I can see "i love you" on the picture :D awwww

Did you guys even play it? The times were not ending 5 ft before the finish line... they were ending half a lap early. The glitched times were easy to remove because they were 20 seconds quicker than the real times.
@ndoerr -- Thanks man.. that track is the best part of TT and it makes sense that they would start the GT development off of TT. For those who dont know, the real Nuremburgring has writing all over it like that... each corner's name, messages, just random stuff people sneak out and draw with chalk. Tracks with 9min lap times are kewl!!!

Diff, plz.
I wouldn't be surprised if even CRC checking was too much to expect from these downloads.
