Saint's Row crashing into a PS3 near you soon?

GTA clone or not, Saint's Row on the Xbox 360 was a solid game... and it was relatively well received by the reviewer community. The #1 source of gaming rumors world-wide, EB Games, recently had a new PS3 listing indicating that Saint's Row might be making a run for the mighty PS3. That listing has now mysteriously disappeared and THQ has responded to a 1UP investigation with a standard "no comment."
As far as ports go, this one is a decent one to have on the system. We're just hoping that the PS3 doesn't become an easy dumping ground for games publishers wanting to give their Xbox 360 catalog a "second chance."

So in essence you're saying you want the 360 to have more exclusives? That's not smart.
Saints Row is a great game. Miles better than GTA ever was in my humble opinion. PS3ers should be glad to have this game (and franchise) in their camp.

I had this on 360 and loved it. It had a lot of additions and improvements to the core play of GTA and actually wasn't as derivative as people once suggested.
This would be nice on my PS3.

@1... no, I think we're saying 2 things:
1. we'd rather have publishers dedicate resources to PS3 exclusives
2. if there are going to be ports (and there always will be), we'd rather seem them ported from the PS3 to the 360.
A good port of a good game is always fun to have on the system. What wouldn't be fun is if developers start to really just develop for the 360 first and then port their back-catalog to the PS3 later.

For you to make a negative comment in reference to mutli-console games is crazy. You need to think of it as developers, maxamizing their investment.

Wtf ps3 would gettin a exclusive n we are fighting why it shoudlnt b there?! woah, n yea if there is ever gunna b good ports or exclusives it has to start from sony first, then to other consoles its just natural order. 360 or wii passing on a game to the ps3 equals WEIRD!

I think PS3 gamers should be grateful for ANYTHING they can get, to put that $600 console to use.
Saint Row was a fantastic game... originality be damned. I played through it, conquered stillwater, and played through most of the side missions. Multiplayer was supposedly pretty fun, but I have yet to try it.
And why are people supportive of exclusivity? That's awful! Exclusivity is anti-gamer and anti-developer. The only groups which benefit would be Microsoft or Sony or (do we still have to mention) Nintendo.

It's a smart move. With the wasteland that is the current PS3 game library, it would sell like hotcakes. There's a massive void to be filled.
That said, warmed-up 360 leftovers from 6 months ago doesn't sell consoles.

Saints Row is easily one of the best "sandbox" games in existence. In fact, I enjoyed playing this game more than any of the GTA games thanks to its FPS-like aiming, activities, respect system, story, all-star voice cast, fully-opened city, etc. Volition clearly capitalized on the weaknesses and shortcomings of the GTA series.
Another thing. Saints Row has sold over one million copies in America to date and this prompted THQ to expand this franchise. The execs of THQ themselves confirmed this months ago.
A Saints Row port, if ever it is true, would add great quality to the PS3's lineup of games, which is very weak by the way.
On the 360, gamers can look forward to Saints Row 2. THQ did not mention any date or in-game details but expect them to release the sequel this July 2007.
