Godfather The Don Edition coming to PS3
Another GTA clone and port is coming to your local PS3. This time we've got the PS2's The Godfather game, based on the original The Godfather movie. But some improvement have been made...The Godfather The Don's Edition is promising new gameplay and new missions via the inclusion of a Corleone Expansion Pack. The game also allegedly takes "full advantage" of the SIXAXIS and allows you to "manhandle your controller to manhandle your opponent." That might be interesting.
Look for the game in March 2007. Hey, that's right around the corner!

The Godfather game was and I suspect still will be a horrible, horrible GTA clone with zero redeeming features. The PC / 360 version had so little content it was a joke - the Corleone missions took 4 hours of gameplay, the "mission" of capturing every business and compound counted as 50% of the game score. But since every compound was identical except for textures and every shop was boiler plate, you'd go mad before finishing. And the levels proper were stupid backplots to the Godfather movie which made no sense, or changed the movie in stupid ways (e.g. chasing Paulie through a maze of exploding boxes wtf???), or didn't fit into the movie universe and turned you into an unstoppable killing machine with 100s of kills by the end.
It wasn't even a good game in comparison to GTA. It had something like 6 generic vehicles to steal, vast swathes of roads to traverse with NOTHING to do, no climbing, jumping or other stuff, a vastly simplified New York which didn't even have a subway system. I doubt a few new missions is going to make much difference.
The PS3 & Wii would be better off without it.
