Make your videos PSP compatible online
Do you want to convert videos for use on your PSP without the hassle of downloading and installing any other programs? Well, for the few of you out there, there's a new solution for you: Media-Convert. The site will let you upload your own files, or simply copy-paste a URL, and have them converted into a PSP-friendly format. It's incredibly easy, and as a bonus, lets you save your results on their servers for up to 6 days. However, there's a huge drawback: the quality really sucks. In my opinion, it's barely watchable. For higher quality vids, you'll probably want to stick with PSP Fanboy Theatre.

For stuff from Youtube just use vixy.net (Andrew put up a post about it), the quality is GREAT!!!!

In addition to vixy (which works) you can try heywatch
http://heywatch.com/site
You can subscribe to a podcast feed and it will convert them for you and send them along!

I've been using Media-Convert for a while now, and while the "PSP format" preset is pretty horrible to use, there are some positives if you mess around with the different settings. If you use the MPEG-4 format preset instead to run it from the VIDEO folder instead of MP_ROOT, it works best for QuickTime videos in the MOV extension as well as many MPEGs. It's nice that you can specify the specific resolution as well as framerate, too. Quality does vary greatly with WMVs and YouTube flash videos, though.

I still say ffmpegX is the best option for Mac OS X. And if you're trying to DISTRIBUTE files that'll work with a PSP, try Google Video. Upload and go! Available as FLV, GVI/AVI, and iPod/PSP compatible MP4.

definately better off just downloading installing a video software program. Now, there are tons of free programs that convert video files for use on your PSP.

Hello, I work for the Media-Convert site and checked your message. Thanks, I fixed a damned bug with the video bitrate, that's why the quality was so bad. Now it must be very clean. Thank you for any feedback / suggestions...
