Activision anticipates record high revenues

Huh. This is my 600th post on this site. It's also my birthday. Woo! Okay, okay, enough personal gushing. Birthdays are about to turn from the "cool!" category to the "please make them stop!" category for me anyway. Anywho, let's talk about Activision.

Activision is expecting very high revenues for the third quarter that just ended -- nearly record numbers of $823 million for the company. What's to blame credit for this record-breaking number? Four key titles released last quarter: Call of Duty 3, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Tony Hawk's Project 8, and of course Guitar Hero 2. Way to go, Activision! Even though they'll experience a drop in the fourth quarter due to a stock option and the delay of the next Quake title, they'll have increased their fiscal year profits by a tidy margin. Good news for Activision, good news for us -- except for that Quake delay.
