3.03 downgrader released [Update 1]

Finally, you can downgrade your 3.03 PSP to homebrew-friendly 1.50. You will need the following:

You can find more info at Noobz. Remember: you are downgrading at your own risk, and no one can be held responsible if you brick your system. Take precaution. Once you downgrade, you can always upgrade to one of Dark_Alex's custom firmware options.

SUCCESS!!! :D downgraded my 3.03 to 1.5 than upgraded to Dark Alex's 3.03 OE-C with no probs :D but i'm ready to crash for the nite and mess with the homebrew'n tomorrow. well done guys!!

This is a godsend. I just bricked my 3.02 oe psp about 2 weeks ago and received my refurb a few days ago and i thought i was gonna have to wait months for this. now i just gotta find an unpatched copy of GTA.

OK VERY important question...

I read their readme file and it specified the North America 1.50 Version.

I'm in Europe, does this mean this is only for US PSP owners.

What if i need to upgrade to a future EU Sony Version?

Okay, so I've done it (all together now... Thaaaaank you, Dark Alex!) So once you're done, can you erase all of the files you put into your PSP folder, or are some of those needed? I figure it's all in the firmware, so it's alright to delete them, but I want to here from someone who knows. That's all, I think many people could benefit from an answer to this question, I hope someone can help us out. Thanks again, everybody!

To answer some questions:
-YES, you can downgrade a TA-082 BUT you'll need to patch it first (the downgrader includes this patch and it will be required to finish the downgrade so don't worry)

- the greatest hits GTA Liberty city stories IS NOT an unpatched game... sorry!

downgraded, worked fine! tahnks dark_alex!!! but everytime i try to install the 3.03OE the Update Maker doesn't find the needed file. Can anyone help?

wait wat do you mean? it still says that it cant find it, i renamed the original folder psp1 because i had to put the other one from the mp root in ther so i dont know if that affected anything....

Please, can anyone help me? In the back of my PSP, where you put the UMDs, the number "IC6001" is shown instead of "IC1003". Is my PSP a TA-082 or a TA-086 PSP? I need to know this to downgrade my PSP succesfully. Thanks and please give me an answer!

It doesn't matter what motherboard it is, when you run it, it'll ask you if you want to patch it. If it does ask you that means two things. 1: You have a TA-082(if it doesn't ask you you have an original) 2:You hit yes.

I can also talk you through the process as a number of my members have all downgraded then upgraded to several different releases of OE

This worked a treat on my PSP (european).

If anyone didn't already know, you can play your original PlayStation One games on your PSP if you downgrade and then upgrade to 3.03 OE-C. There's tools around for ripping your discs.

Dark_Alex is a PSP God!!
Firmware 3.03 OE-C is fantastic, best of both worlds, Homebrew and PSP services.
Works on IC1003 motherboard

Just downgraded from 3.03 to 1.5 using the gta lcs then upgraded using DAlex 3.03oe. Left the game inside and tried to load...Now it seems like the unit is bricked..So I will warn those who will try this. DO NOT TRY TO LOAD GTA LCS again it may happen to you too.

I have a problem downgrading from ver 3.03 to 1.5.
My psp does not write the HEN when i load the game.The save game is loaded at 50% then a white screen appears and the psp shuts down.It seems that its not writing to the memory stick.Why?

#32 asked a question that I would like the answer to also. Can you use Star Wars Battlefront 2 instead of GTA: LCS? I bought both today and my GTA is patched, but Battlefront has the 2.0 firmware. I read somewhere else that someone used the gigpack that had the 2.0 on theirs and it worked. Don't know if that is true or not.

I downgraded no probs and all homebrew runs fine but If I installed 3.03 by dark alex or whatever will I still be able to run 1.50 hombrew programs like doom psp?

otherwise I wont bother upgrading to 3.03 oe

OK. I have been trying to figure out this whole homebrew thing for a few weeks and I am very confused. I upgraded my original PSP too high so I bought a 2.81 version off craigs list. I successfully upgraded then downgraded, then upgraded again. It is now running Dark Alex's firmware 3.03 OE-C. NOW what do I do? Please help! :)
