Devil May Cry 4 rumored to be Xbox 360 bound
Rumors are a dime a dozen. However, they become a little bit more valuable when they come from the Official PlayStation Magazine. The latest issue states that Capcom is bringing the beautiful looking game to the Xbox 360. If true, and we're starting to believe, then this will be a big blow to the PS3.
Of course, these are all still rumors, no matter how confident PSM seems to be in their sources. Capcom is remaining silent... for now. I give this one a 75% chance of being true. I give a 100% chance for anti-Sony fanboys to clog the comments section with tons of useful wisdom and commentary.

PSM isn't the official Playstation Magazine. OPM has been discontinued for a couple months now.
I am sure we will have a visit from all the lovely MS fanboys who thought that it was true that MS bought Capcom and made a huge deal about it on xbox360fanboy.com.

regardless if this is rumor or not.. its disheartening that there are more rumors of PS3 exclusives going to 360 than the other way around. I rarely see any rumors on 360 losing exclusives

i think it's going to be this way for awhile and we might as well get used to it. i love my PS3 and still believe it has a strong future. right now, game developers (who would usually give us the exclusive) are looking at the possibility of their games NOT being played by enough people because the PS3 hasn't reached as many homes as possible. as business people, all that matters is the bottom line, and if releasing something like DMC 4 on the 360 brings in more loot, then that's what will happen. until sony hits with Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword etc, and the PS3 starts appealing to more people, this shall be the way for at least a few months. if i'm Capcom and i'm looking at the PS3, with...Resistance, and well...that's it as the selling point right now, then how can i take the chance of releasing a huge title like DMC4 only to the PS3, knowing that few people have it yet? it sucks but it's the truth, give it a year, we can only hope Sony can move more units by creating QUALITY first party games. i personally think Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword and Lair are looking pretty amazing.

@#5 Now just because DMC4 might be coming to the 360 by no means does it mean that Lost Planet or Dead Rising are coming to the PS3 the only reason that DMC4 would be coming to the 360 is because Capcom is smart, they know if they only release it on the PS3 that they would hardly make any profit at all and well that would be stupid releasing it on only one console when they know if they do that they won't make half as much money as they would on two consoles, so please think before you post a stupid comment.
Oh and im laughing at you PS3 Fanboys for losing all of your exclusives for one reason, and no it's not to be an asshole it's beacuse if it was the other way around and the 360 had lost all of its exclusives you would be laughing at us.

The funny thing is Nintendo is probably laughing while sony/ms losing exclusives... Since the Wii is so revolutionary with the controls any good games released on the Wii will most likely stay as exclusive. When I say "good" i mean games that are built from ground up to fully utilize the wiimote- not games that does an addon like madden etc. If you are developer who made Warioware (assume its 3rd party) it would be a totally different experience on the ps3/360.

Well even if this comes to the Xbox 360 I don't think Dead Rising or Lost Planet will come to the Playstation 3, I do think sequels and such will come out multi-platform only because the number of consoles sold thus far. If Devil May Cry 4 comes out anywhere between now and September I wouldn't be surprised if it were released on the 360 as well, although if it comes out in October or November (or December) I can see it as a PS3 exclusive. It's all about sales, and thus far the 360 has been doing good towards Capcom so I wouldn't be surprised. I guess it depends how well the PS3 sells this year.

It has been reported that the 360 has very high software attach rates...I think it was 5.6 games per Xbox 360. Record high attach rates. What does this mean...only that people that buy 360's also buy games and lots of them. That fact along with over 10 million 360's sold this far is very attractive to developers who are looking to make a buck. Resistance Fall of man is by no means a Killer Ap as folks aren't going out and buying PS3's for that game in the way say Gears of War has done for the 360...but if Resistance was out on the 360 it would certainly have made the title far mor sucessful...not just because the larger install base, but because of the Xbox Live community and the 360 owners generally love FPS. Just a case in point...right now the place to be for successful software sales is on the 360. Even fanboys can't deny the practicality of the situation.

As a 360 owner (not sure bout PS3 yet) I'm glad exclusives are being lost to the PS3, I also hope that Lost Planet and Dead Rising show up on PS3. In short I think exclusives by third party publishers are bullshit. Hears for MGS4 for 360 and Lost Planet for PS3. You know you all want it, lol.

sony doesn't "trade" exclusives yoma, it's up the developer, sony can cut them some licensing and production fees, but that's all. I spoke to a sony rep about this (I work at a gamestop), and he said they don't pay them money to keep them exclusive. But what makes sense..developing a game for a system with around 1 million user base, or developing a game with 10+ million users? It's about making their money back.

Honestly, xbox can have this game.. if I was sony I wouldn't spend money trying to hold on to a game series that had its run. There are new and upcoming franchises that Sony should seek exclusive rights with... (i.e. Okami, Bully, Guitar Hero[note too late to tie up an 80s rock...] Army of Two pt. 2 [if it gets to that point], Mercenaries [game is w/o a publisher]..)

Personally, I am glad that microsoft is getting some more love out of the land of the rising sun. This will give them the chance to get more japanese games out there so that people like punkrockinprimate might actually give the 360 a chance. If he likes Japanese RPGs, I hope he gets a good look at Blue Dragon and Lost Oddyssey, which are definitely looking great. Hopefully this is just the start of what we might see in the future for 360.
Also, Microsoft isn't the only company in this battle trying to be monopolistic. I would have to say that Sony does worse things in this area. Take almost any format of storage device that Sony has made in the last 30 years. The only players for these devices were almost always Sony. The MiniDisc? The Memory Stick? The UMD? Blu-Ray is breaking that only because Sony wasn't the only company working on it. It is sad that they try and force you to buy multiple players just from them. VHS, CDs, and DVDs can be played by players from any company because the companies behind them allowed other companies to make players. Will Blu-Ray follow a similar pattern?

@22 There will be no Okami sequel as the developer studio no longer exists. Harmonix, the developer of Guitar Hero no longer wants to make any sequels, and Bully might also not make it to a sequel as the sales werent as high as they expected. And you know why, because it was on the PS2 and they dont have the market of people who like quality games.
Thank you Sony for your exclusive Okami which sold like crap cause it was on your crappy system.

I wonder why Sony only partnered with Namco-Bandai....I'm sure Capcom would also be glad to partner them, bring the good rockman x times back (I liked the rockman series, but the rockman x series won me over, cmon, I cried when Iris died xD). It would be horrible to see Capcom change the path of the Devil May Cry series...keep it on the playstation for gods sake....otherwise you ll find sony fanboys (me included :3) rioting...... cmon capcom, don't give the mbots what they want, stick with us....

There's already talks of an Guitar Hero 80s edition, the developer has no plans to stop making guitar Hero games... don't know how you conceived a notion that Capcom still owns the rights to Okami, and the team that worked on that game are still employed w/ Sony.. there for a sequel can be done.

Okami was made by the Capcom studio Clover (which also made Viewtiful Joe) which was dispersed due to poor sales.
Bully may have sold 1 million but on a system which has shipped over 100 million that's pathetic sales (dont show me an analyst prediction, especially that guy).
And just cause there's talks of an 80s edition Guitar Hero doesnt mean its gonna see the light of day (considering a few of the songs on both GHs were from the 80s anyway), it could be from a secondary developer thus making it not as good. Either way it'll come out of 360 as well before it comes out on PS3.

I'm not partiuclarly a fanboy one way or the other....but I initially wanted to get a PS3 at launch...didn't and wasn't expecting to be able to get one for sum time because of shortages. However the tides have turned and now I'm not even sure I want one any more...as a businessman and a game player...Sony's strategy has continued to show major flaws...it's like 1 step forward 2 steps back with the news that's been coming out...while from a strictly profit standpoint multi-platform releases make a lot of sense....but that could be a major blow to Sony given that it appears the flow is going in one direction. I don't know man...I hope Sony well get its shit together...but it's not looking good and the PS3 is proving to be a major flop...hope I wrong.

basic fact of the matter...developers aren't going to continue exclusively supporting a console that hasn't produced on the numbers....until sony can pull its head from its rectum, and actually start moving units, instead of crapping all over their customers, microsoft is going to continue walking all over them, and taking all of their toys...
