Capcom standing by DMC4 PS3 exclusivity

Hot on the heels of the mega-rumor that Capcom was bringing the Devil May Cry franchise over to the Xbox 360, comes word directly from the developer that says it ain't so. Sorta.
"Capcom does not comment on rumors. Devil May Cry 4 is exclusive to PS3. No other announcements have been made."
So, for today, DMC4 is truly a PS3 exclusive. But that sneaky, crafty PR lingo surrounding the confirmation doesn't give me the warm-and-fuzzies that DMC4 is staying a PS3 exclusive for long. Time will tell...

To me that's the same as:

That is exactly what that means.. but you have to think about it from a business POV. No corporation wants someone within the company making absolute statements.
They always leave the door open.. not because they expect to port the game to 360.. but because they don't want to end up with their foot in their mouth should that somehow end up happening.
So it literally means that they have absolutely no plans and have had no real discussions about porting it to the 360.. it isn't on their agenda or their minds and they are developing it with one platform in mind only.. but they can't predict what the future holds so they refrain from cementing their words about it.

Of course Capcom also said Resident Evil 4 and Killer7 were exclusive as well. And what happened there?

Again, the 360 doesn't need DMC4. The PS3 needs everything it can get. (looks at dusty black taco unit next to Wii and 360)

Let me help ya out... The 360 is a Better machine! No-one wants to program for the cell... Sorry but that's just the way it is!

Of course 360 needs DMC4, they need every title, expecially Japanese title they can get. Who do you think started this rumor in the first place? That's right 360 fanboys trying to make the PS3 look like a sinking ship every developer is jumping off. I smell fear and cowardice 'cough'!

360 is going to get a lot of games, becuase it has a big user base. Then again, the xbox got a lot of games even when it didn't have a big user base (or as big as the ps2)

Not necessarily, all it means is that they do not have an official position on it. For the time it is still "exclusive" but that does not mean that they are not in talks or even the final phase of their talks.
Right now xbox 360 has PS3 at 10 consoles to 1 which from a buisness perspective means that their is more potential for sales in having a multi platform game. Considering Capcoms recent success with Lost Planet and Dead Rising, im sure they have nothing but good things to say about M$. I would guess that the only reason it isnt officially announced for the 360 is that sony is probably twisting their arm as hard as they can. Lets face it, ive stopped counting how many exclusives sony has lost, its quite sad. Not that im complaining, I plan on owning them all but right now all I have is my 360 and a wii.

I think it will, in time though. I think the ps3 will have it for a while b4 a port of sumsort. But hey, i wouldnt trust capcom, i mean they screwd the nintendo gc over by porting RE4 to the ps2, one of the greatest GAMES EVA!!!!

Check that second sentence in the quote. At this point, they don't plan on porting it to the 360. That doesn't mean it won't happen eventually, but don't hold your breath. Right now it's a PS3 game. If you 360 owners get it, don't be surprised if you have to wait for a while anyway.
I've never seen so many internet rumours and beliefs taken as gospel and truth as I have in the last three months. Why don't you 360 fans go forward some of those emails from Gates to win a trip to disneyland if you have nothing better to do?
