Spiderman 3 marketing spin begins

Spidey 3Activision has officially launched a slick Spiderman 3: The Game website. Not much to see yet, but I'll give props to the cool costume transition that can be seen by rolling over various parts of the screen. You'll find links to an old game trailer, the movie trailer, development blog, pre-order options and a new Spidey 3 contest.

I really enjoyed the original Spiderman game and thought Spiderman 2 was a bit lackluster. Or was it the other way around? Bottom-line is that I'll be picking this game up in May on day 1. Given that the Spiderman franchise is one of Sony Studio's crown jewels, I hope that Activision has given some extra love to the PS3 version of this multi-platformer. But, I suspect that movie rights and game rights are separate licenses from Marvel, so my hopes aren't high for special PS3 treatment. However, I'm betting that we're only going to see HD Spidey 3 on Blu-Ray.
