Saints Row PS3 bound, for real-reals

The open-world XBox 360 title Saints Row was super-duper officially confirmed to be headed towards the PS3 this spring. There's going to be online support mimicking that of the 360 version as well as a few more exclusive goodies. Rumored to be included in the PS3 edition are new cars, costumes, multiplayer maps and... well... they're just rumors, so we don't really know. But those are always nice things to tack on! Says Kelly Flock of THQ, "Bringing the open-world genre to the PlayStation 3 system for the first time will help grow the Saints Row fan base and expand the open-world online community." We sure hope so! If we can play against the XBox crowd, we should make two warring gangs: the XBots and the Sons of Sony. How fun would that be?

hmmm I'm starting to like the ps3 fanboy site here. It's been positive all the time now. 360 and ps3 living in harmony. It would be a moment that stopped all time, if it ever happens.

It's great that Saints Row is being ported to the PS3, which is obviously lacking great games. Saints Row sold over a million copies globally and this alone motivates THQ to bring it to PS3 and make more money.
Sony consoles are often identified with GTA games so some people might think that Saints Row is not needed (GTA4 is coming out on October).
I myself played Saints Row to the limit and I must declare that I had bigger enjoyment with it than with GTA3, GTA:VC or GTA:SA.
That's how great this game is.
So if you have a PS3 and never played Saints Row before, go get this game!

PSM confirms the maps, costumes and other extras. IGN says the same.
So they aren't exactly rumors.

i was talking about playing againts the xbox pals...btw is this stuff is posible?
I mean you have a ps3 and your friend has a 360 can developers join the multiplayer mode? or does it depends on sony and microsoft?

probably depend on Sony and Microsoft.. seeing how you'll probably be playing on their servers.
Would be awesome but I don't know if the companies would be able to stop bickering long enough to think about their customers :p

More sloppy seconds for the PS3. A port of a game that was released in August 2006 on the 360. Worse yet, no firm date for the PS3 -- at least 6-9 months after the XBOX 360 version.

I dont care if it is 2 years after initial release, this is an amazing game! Graphics and physics are so realistic. The world of Stillwater is incredibly deep and no holding back in violence, obscenity and sexuality(although there is nothing graphicly too explicit in terms of sex anyway).
Because it is so close to GTA many did not appreciate all of the ways this game improved on that formula. This is so far beyond what is currently available for PS3.

I've just finished the game this afternoon. Absolutely amazing game overall in every way!
For those who have finished the game, what did you think of the end cutscene? I didn't realise what had happened until the credits had rolled past... he didn't survive :( lol

I've seen several videos of this game on youtube which demonstrate how glitchy the game can be. Hopefully the PS3 version will be tweaked to remove a lot of the bugs.

You always have some idiot on here saying "more sloppy seconds for PS3 owners, more year old games"...I had Saints Row for the 360 and I liked it and I"m happy that PS3 people will get it too. It's just funny how if it was the other way around and they got a PS3 port a few months later (like EXACTLY what will happen with Virtua Fighter) they've got nothing to say. I look forward to that time so we can all go over to 360Fanboy and act like dicks. So lame.
