Kingdom Hearts 3 visuals due out by year's end

Nomura admitted that there are plans to give some visuals of the next KH before the end of 2007. You can speculate that the Tokyo Game Show will reveal a trailer, images, or just some printed information. Not much else to say, but feel free to toss in your theories or ideas here. I had a really good one, but... it's been a while and I've forgotten what it is.

I don't think Kingdom Hearts will come out for next-gen systems; Disney has made an exclusive Wii studio, and it would be very cheap for Square-Enix to simply port the PS2 engine; not to mention that the Wii-controller is a perfect fit for the keyblade. Besides, how much more graphical improvement can a Cel-shaded title get?
Then again who knows, if it does, it would most definitely be PS3, which would be awesome if it takes advantage of the Blu-ray space for decompressed content to unload the charge of the Cell and RSX for lush visuals, physics and AI and virtually unlimited content, and HDD to reduce load times.

Oh, and Kingdom Hearts probably appeals mostly to consumers that aren't willing to spend more than 300 bucks for a console.

I highly doubt this will be on any other system other than the PS3. There were 2 versions that were exclusive to the PS2 and the xbox, xbox360 and the GC existed.
I honestly can't wait to see this on ps3 and trust me, people who paid 600 for a system will cream for KH3

#1 - I wasn't aware Kingdom Hearts was cell shaded.
#2 - Believe me they will. By the time it comes out it won't be alot over 300 bucks anyway, probably very close to that estimate.
I want this game on ps3 but i am aware of the benefits KH3 could have if it was on the wii (cheaper production, big install base in Japan, more profit) but i think elsewhere Kingdom Hearts biggest fanbase are the Playstation users. So there's that to take into account as well.

As dedicated as Square-enix is to Sony and disney is to Blu-ray, I doubt this will appear on the Wii or 360. Then again, weirder things have happened

#5 - wow kingdom hearts' biggest fanbase is playstation users? What gave you that idea? is it the fact that it's ONLY been on ps2 (aside from the single GBA title). Of course it's going to be their bigger user base. Lets make some more obvious statements, such as I think halo's bigger user base is xbox players

Not Quite, Disney MOVIES are deticated to BLuRay while Disney GAMES are dedicated for Nintendo Systems.
KH can only exist IF Disney allows Square to Create it.
Oh the other hand Disney can pull off a huge suprise and put it on the DS or PSP (God DQIX was a HUGE suprise)

Anyway, Naaiif, I don't think "they" will. Kingdom hearts came out in 2003; by then, PS2 was at the most 199+Tax. KH2 in 2006, when PS2 was 149 (or 129 already?). So no, I don't think they'll buy a 600 console solely for Kingdom Hearts, even if it is THAT good (and it is).
Tyler: If square enix is so dedicated to Sony, why do they prefer nintendo's portables over the PSP? And if Disney supports Blu-ray so much, then why do they have some patents in iHD (which they would have liked to have in Blu-ray), and why do they have a studio dedicated SOLELY for Wii games? It's a new studio.
I really wouldn't be surprised if KH3 was a Wii game. It makes too much sense: Install base, price, engine, controller, target demographic, profit, disney's studio and Square-Enix giving more love to Nintendo now than they did 5 years ago.
PS3 fans, don't fret, though. I'm only saying it's very likely, but PS3 still has hopes for KH3. After all, PS3 will also lure some casuals with money for high definition entertainment, or for the Sony brand, or for innovative games available (eyedentify, singstar, guitar hero). Also, they said "Kingdom Hearts 3 visuals due out by year's end", implying NEW visuals. Could this be a new PS3 game?
And again, more speculation could lead me to think that there will be a Wii version with a different storyline, or a wii version with the same storyline, worse graphics, but wiimote enhanced.
The last thing I expect is this title coming out on Xbox 360 (much less as an exclusive), but I also wouldn't be surprised if it is a cross-platform with PS3, given the high development costs, and the divided install bases unlike last-gen.

Squeenix lately seems to like re-making thier games on portables, saying they prefer DS over PSP isnt exactly true though, seeing how they're also remaking FF1 and 2 as well as FFT(eagerly awaiting)
Regardless, it's besides the point, seeing how we're not talking about a game that is going to be targeted to a handheld. Also, by the time KH comes out S-E expects the PS3 market to be "taking off" to quote the link i encluded.
To be honest, I never really got into the series lol but it'll be good news for the PS3 anyway, cheers

Square-Enix is publishing Spin-offs and remakes on PSP. On the other hand, they published the latest game of their most important franchise (or second most) on the DS. Besides, just because Square thinks PS3 will take off in 2008 doesn't mean they will put KH3 on it. That only means that for them, it makes sense to still publish FFXIII and Versus on PS3.
KH still makes more sense, at least to me, to be published on Wii, than on PS3. I'm not ensuring anything, I'd love for it to be on PS3 more than anything, I'm just being realistic though.

ok in the preview of kh3 it says that it all begins with the birth of sleep right? Well, I think that everyboby forgot about whole kingdom hearts 1 started. The whloe thing started when Sora was sleeping on the beach. So I think thats what they mean when they say " It all STARTED with the birth of sleep."

well for me i think it will come out on the ps2 or ps3 it is just more likely. why would the change something to wii or xbox if its been on the ps2 first.they would get more money if its on playstation. im not saying it a bad thing to do that on another system but they wont do it.
oh ya, well in the trailer for kh3 it said birth by sleep. well in some of the videos for it it shows roxas as it says it.so i think it has some thing to do with him.

Kingdom Hearts should be made on PS2 so both PS2 AND PS3 are allowed to play. Either that or make two versions for each console. They should make KH:CoM2 for PSP though. It wasn't as great on GBA because of the graphics and the lack of buttons. I don't think any of these games should be made for other consoles because of the fact that everyone knows the past 2 have been on Playstation and everyone is hoping to play the 3rd one on the same console they already have. We don't want to go out and buy a new console just to play this game once. I mean yeah, it's probably worth it, but many of us are cheap *cough* me *cough*. So they should just stick to the original format and add more Disney worlds, then BAM there goes the sequel of the greatest hit ever.
