Up close with the metallic silver PSP [Update 1]

sthpark7791 from the PlayStation boards just posted some really sexy pictures of his new import silver PSP. Obviously, it's quite shiny, but he has a few other things to say:
- It feels "stronger" than the original black PSP.
- The analog nub has more resistance.
- Buttons are a lot harder.

Sad. I used to really like Ceramic White, but after seeing this, I am completely jealous. Man, SONY. If only there were these much choices around November 05.

Sorry to burst your bubbles, but most of the so-called physical 'improvements' are nothing more than manifestations of wishful thinking, and buying into certain reports. It is true, quite a few of the Japanese units did come with 'slightly' better buttons and physical feel. I own such a PSP myself, but 'much stronger' in itself makes me doubt the statement. There's no way to measure strength of a handheld to such extreme degrees without smashing it. It might feel a tad bit sturdier, which I am sure it does; Japanese units are quality, but that's about it. This is exactly how my unit felt in comparison to my friend's European model.

This would be the needle on the camel's back for me to go out a buy a psp. Well, this or a $50 price drop. But I'd bet that we'll be seeing the latter a long time before Sony ever deems American's worthy of getting to choose the color of their portable delights.
