Virtua Fighter 5 -- #1 game in Japan... for now!

VF5 has apparently sold 48,346 copies since its release on February 8th -- and these rankings are measuring from February 5th - February 11th. Four days, fifty-thousand copies? Nice job, Sega and Sony. The question we should be asking is: will this game stay at the top of the chart? Will it have a similar impact Stateside and over in Europe? In any case, hats off to a great start, Virtua Fighter 5.

Wow, the only game worth a damn in japan that managed to come out on PS3 managed to sell well, that really is amazing. PS3 owners usually dont like to play games remember.

@1..witty!
the game is awesome. plain and simple regardless of console, been playing it since last Friday, beautiful graphics, tight gameplay and deep as hell.

Well ... Four days actually. (8, 9, 10, 11). Good for Sega; not so good for PS3fanboy.

@ Lion -- here, try this with me: "Hey, you guys should have said 4 days (8, 9, 10, 11). Just thought I'd let you know." It's a lot nicer sounding. Either way, point taken.

Not to badmouth VF5 cause I have nothing but respect for the franchise, but as you said, its not the console that did made the game sell, its Sega.

Wii60 owner here to show some support for the game/PS3. VF5 does look great and will definitely be on my 'to buy list' when i can get a PS3. Nice to know it's selling well too.

The game I bought my console for is almost here!
Why does the interest seem so tepid this side of the Pacific?

Ted, you will be pleasantly surprised...I've been playing non stop for a week now, truly beautiful game.
