"Look forward to" Disgaea, says NIS employee

I had nearly given up all hope of Disgaea coming out to America. Although the game had performed well in Japan, NIS has been strangely silent about the possibility of a localized version ever reaching English-speaking shores. Well, blackIceJoe from the Gamespot forums received a cryptic e-mail from NIS, which hints at a pending release:

"As for Disgaea PSP, We unfortunately cannot release much information about Disgaea yet ... but we can tell you to look forward to it. We hope this will give you some sort of idea.

As for the Europe version, we do not have any information about it at this point, but we believe it will be coming out in Europe. Please check back with us within a few months to see if we have further information on the Europe version."

The idea that this e-mail gives us is that Disgaea is coming. The only question is: when?

Well I take it I do not need to let you know about this any more.

I was trying to get the whole letter to work on the GS forums. But it would not let me so I only put the stuff people want to hear.

But that being said I guess I could try and edit it. With what I wrote to them.

I also think that its about time htis game comes out. I know lots of people that plan on buying a PSP just for this game. So that is great news for Sony and PSP users.

Not only did I buy my PSP for this, but I am going to sell it soon if I don't hear some positive news with regards to this. I've bought Disgaea manga, toys, other fun stuff, trying to support the franchise and let the company know I'd like to see it here in the US. I even have emailed their staff. I also got a rather cryptic email myself. It read...

"Dear Preston,

We understand your frustration because of a lack
of imformation. We believe that there will be some announcements on the NISA website on March 29th, so please look forward to it. We cannot say anything right now, but you will have some news then.

We really appreciate your support and interest in
our games:-)

Have a great night."

So I guess I can wait another month for an announcement about whether or not it will actually get released and how far into the future that will be... :|

I'm a few days away from giving up, though. I waited forever to buy a PSP and bought one when it was announced. I've waited longer and no real news of substance. I'm pretty close to posting it on Craigslist, though. It's just gotten old. How many times do fans have to tell you they want to buy your game? That with the price of the system they consider your game a $300 purchase, basically. Please please please bring it here. And yet all we get after all this time are cryptic emails that maybe we'll see it someday.

well it is good news that a day of fruition has been able to be garnished from that message. Imagine if they just did a silent release of it, what then, people would be so frutrated and caught off guard.
