Tekken 6 impresses!
Based on the comments from our last Tekken 6 post, we aren't the only ones looking forward to this one! Sure, Virtua Fighter 5 hits stores this week... but that's really just an appetizer to holds us over until the next Tekken. For my money, Tekken has been the best fighter since the PS1 days. This new trailer seems to be more proof that the series will live up to it's legacy. Tekken 6 looks simply awesome.

Hmm..I absoultely love Tekken and I'm looking forward to this release big time but this trailer's not cutting it for me. I was hoping to be blown away, this doesn't look next gen. Virtua Fighter 5 had my jaw on the floor as soon as I booted it up, I hope Tekken does too after it's worked on a little more. Right now, it just looks like Dark Ressurection with different backgrounds (not that it's bad, just a little lackluster).

personally i think tekken sucks compared to DOA. tekken never impressed me at all. its showing its age.

Wow. Underwhelming indeed. Gameplay wise, I love Tekken. I prefer it over DOA and VF but graphicaly DOA and VF are drilling Tekken. I hope it ends up looking better.

WOW.
Did anyone else see Bryan's part at the end? I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but HOLY GOSH-DANG that was neat. If that's been a move that was in previous games, i've never been able to pull it off.
And the customization on GunJack was bitchin, too.

Keep in mind, this game is still a LONG way off. It will be Q3 at the earliest. If anyone remembers the tekken 5 e3 trailers (that can be found in the movie gallery mode of tekken 5) you can see that graphically the game improved dramatically in just mere months. So dont count it out of the graphics race just yet.
The earliest trailers for tekken tend to be early on, before the game is actually in a playable form. The tekken 5 e3 trailer didnt even have the trademark explosions, or any of the interactive environment effects, or even animated environments. Its simply too early to say what this game will look like.

I figured by the second Tekken 6 blog entry, everyone would realize that you're not even looking at the PS3 version. It's the unfinished arcade build.

^Yeah, and the PS3 version will most likely look slightly worse than the arcade counterpart.

Looks as boring as ever... Same graphics as tekken 5, same moves as they've always had since Tekken 1 (which is pretty cool,a ctually). Hopefully it wil have better music tracks because I've allways turned them off...

The arcade chip is based on the PS3 hardware, so it if there is any difference, it will be barely visible.

Tekken games are often pretty close to their arcade counterparts, because the chipsets used in the the tekken arcade machines are always based on Playstation systems. Ever since tekken 2 this has been the case. Also, the console versions tend to have way more content.

Yeah, too bad it probably won't let you play others online.. just like every other P.O.S. PS3 game.
ShawnShady @ Feb 19th 2007 11:54AM
@#9 Jas

Wow looks awesome. I love tekken. Too bad I may not get a ps3(too expensive for me.) Any ways I hope this gets a remake for the psp. Since I do own a psp and tekken DR.
ps. Does Leo sound like a girl when fighting. It does for me.
